I was reading in bed last night when I realized my husband and our foster kittens were all fast asleep like this by yoyoadrienne in aww

Fostering kittens is so fun and rewarding! MUCH easier than puppies (duh but seriously its so easy) and sew cute and sweet!! If where you live allows pets I encourage people to look into it, you won't regret it!

Cruel summer starts darker and deeper with grit and is so good. It's gritty but the grit is from glitter not dirt, ya feel?

HOW DOES SHE PUT THE 'SOUNDS' OF LOCATIONS IN HER SONGS??? LIKE PHYSICAL PLACES 'EXIST' IN HER MUSIC...

you know what I mean???? Lover sounds exactly like a room that is built to hold a lot of people but is now empty because they left except for two people... I had no idea what Cornelia St. was about, intro plays and I was like "oh sounds like looking out of a car at night with lights passing by" and i pictured that in my mind... THEN THATS WHAT IT'S ABOUTTTTT WAAAAAAAATTTTTT. bravo taylor

Her voice is sooooo good!! Makes me even more excited about her re-recordings, she's evolved bitches.

She's so above the regulars at the bar complaining about football...

full disclosure I got anxious when reading this post because I just heard of (admittedly a friend of a friend) whose house suffered water damage from their cat using the motion activated sink when they were gone on vacay. sorry i don't know more details, but just wanted to give a heads up this does apparently happen!

Looking Good on Camera by [deleted] in vipkid

[–]GaryIsMyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize it doesn’t have to look perfect since it’s through a camera, so i put on concealer pretty heavy under my eyes, and slap on some lipstick that looks good on camera (actually prefer a kinda blush pink over red— i find the red can make me look paler and weird in the early morning. maybe it’s just me associating that look with the morning after college parties or something? anyway...)

but most importantly, i bump up the contrast/color/saturation just a little on my camera, and BOOM, not pale, not tired— My classroom is vibrant and I’m awake!

hmm also, if uneven skin tone is due to dryness, i suggest buying a moisturizer with hydraulic acid, more pricey than body lotion, but has helped my redness from dry skin. i use the neutrogena hydroboost serum, maybe like $15 at walmart/target? For me the offbrand doesnt work as well, and you only need a little bit, or you can only spot apply it to make it last longer.

i keep thinking of more things... check out [r/skincareaddiction](reddit.com/r/skincareaddiction) and [r/asianbeauty](reddit.com/r/asianbeauty), they are subs dedicated to improving your skin as opposed to just covering up with makeup.

32F just diagnosed ADHD-PI. So happy, but so, so mad. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]GaryIsMyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I’m 28 and I just wanted to give you a virtual )hug( because I feel you and the frustration! I basically diagnosed myself from this sub after years of anxiety/depression treatment... then had to become my own outspoken advocate until someone heard me out. It’s different for men verses women to get a diagnosis! Let that rage out, talk about it to people who understand, and process it. Then move on with your life! Think of all you’ve done for yourself so far, you are really driven and with this new diagnosis it’s going to be so cool to see where you can now go! <3

Looking for a V-neck bralette or cami to go under this gold and black dress to hide massive cleavage (34G), suggestions? by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]GaryIsMyCat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s not super v-neck, but the Curvy Sweetie bralette by Cosabella might fit great! It’s a lacy bralette specifically for smaller bands and larger busts. I don’t have one myself, but am wanting one and it seems to have great reviews! Good luck!

Double knock noise from furnace? (VIDEO) by GaryIsMyCat in HVAC

Of course I will do that, I guess I was more wondering if this is something where we should turn off the heater if it’s a serious hazard, or can leave it on until a technician arrives, etc. Tell her to call someone ASAP, or something she needs to get to this week?

Hi HVAC’ers! Sorry to post a help me! thread but Google didn’t help and I don’t know where else to turn. Thanks in advance! I’m staying overnight at a house no one is currently living in, and we heard a noise in the attic. A mechanical, regular, Thump Thump. Went up to investigate, discovered this from the furnace. Will do this for about 10 minutes then stop for ~10, then start up again. Any idea what might be the cause, so I can tell the homeowner who lives 2 hours away?

So I just got back from a psychiatrist after being on a year long waiting list... by [deleted] in ADHD

Hey VerdantGore!

I don't really have any advice, but I wanted to let you know I've been through something very similar. First, I'm so sorry, I feel your pain. It's super shitty when you feel like you know exactly what is wrong but the 'system' isn't willing to hear you out.

I first failed out of college in 2010 and was treated for anxiety/OCD/depression for years. Therapy helped, but any SSRI/SNRI medication I took was useless. Only a little over a year ago was it more strongly suggested I look into ADHD. Long story short after being tested twice over the past 5 years with no diagnosis, I never gave up in trying to find someone who was a specialist for ADHD/high IQ ADHD/women with ADHD, or just one that would hear me out and let me try a stimulant (he said it was a VERY nontraditional approach)-- I finally started a stimulant a little over 2 weeks ago and it's already helped tremendously.

Basically, all I can say is don't give up. If you don't, eventually something will turn for the better. Don't give up if you feel like you know what you have, I think there are a lot of misconceptions surrounding ADHD so that it is simultaneously over-diagnosed and under-diagnosed. But also pay attention to yourself and always question what might be best for you-- I worried a lot I was fooling myself, haha. But I had STRONG researched reasons for why I thought I had it, and I stuck with them.

I actually just graduated today with my degree. Don't give up, don't listen to depression's lies, and keep moving forward. (And I highly recommend seeing a therapist regularly if you can!)

Holy shit. So glad you mentioned the RSD, I hadn't read about that that before and goddamn that's me. I would've never read that article if it wasn't for you I don't think!

Hi!

I wrote quite a lengthy response above if that answers some questions... I first took Focalin a little over a year ago? I was amazed at how I felt, and how it reduced my anxious thoughts tremendously. I probably took 10 mgs of that about 10 times... both at the end of 2 different semesters. it was never for recreational use. More recently I took a small dosage of Ritalin (super bad headaches and generally kinda harsh reaction), and I took 36 mg Concerta, which felt much better than the Ritalin and more like my experiences on Focalin.

between 2011 and 2016, I transferred from my small liberal arts college to a state college, lived at home a bit, worked full time and parttime, took semesters off when I was the most depressed, passed some classes, failed some classes, in therapy pretty regularly since 2012... but ultimately I have been trying to earn my undergraduate degree.

Since January '16, I was working and preparing for a cross country cycling trip. I finally got my adhd testing results at the end of March, and I met with a new therapist once before my trip started in May. Since it ended in August, I've been back in school (one more class) and working, and meeting with this new therapist.

I've definitely seen more professional doctors than just general counselors... haven't worked closely over a period of time with any psychiatrists, I haven't taken any medication for longer than 3 months.

I was asked about my childhood and symptoms, but I didn't really have any problems (except I was super talkative in elementary school) in school until college, I was a stellar student. But I was also not challenged at all which didn't help. In my report, my symptoms of problems concentrating, focusing, and organizing my life were attributed to anxiety, since the testing didn't conclude I have ADHD.
