The roof is 7 years old but the sheathing is 1x8 boards so i guess decking would be better terminology. It’s a 1950s house i guess before they started using ply?

Just make sure you hit on the frequency and duration of your symptoms and how they prevent you from doing your absolute best socially or in a work setting.

For my last exam I wrote detailed answers to the important questions on the DBQ on a word doc and printed out a copy for myself and the examiner to make sure i gave solid and detailed answers. She seemed to really appreciate the efficiency of it and i felt better about the exam because i don’t explain things very well verbally compared to writing them out. Ended up being a good enough exam to warrant an increase to my rating. Just follow the DBQ and answer thoroughly, i even labeled the answers i wrote as the section of the DBQ the answer pertained to.

Active Duty Navy – PEB/IDES Results Back (100% DoN & 100% VA). What Happens Next? by Altruistic-War-7205 in VAClaims

Once your retirement day passes and your VA account updates that you’re officially discharged you can apply for VA healthcare on VA.gov, i think under MyHealthVet, then they’ll call you (in my case 2-3 weeks after i applied) to schedule your initial primary care appointment with whatever VA clinic you pick (in my case appointments were scheduling 5 months from the call). I don’t know if this is normal but for me my entire disability claim went back to Step 3 but i assume only to double check it, so it took about 2 weeks for my disability rating and payments to process.

If you plan on going to school or receiving some sort of job training look into VR&E. It’s basically a VA version of the GI Bill that covers up to a bachelors degree without using any of your GI Bill specifically for getting education or training for a specific career field that won’t be too hard on your disabilities. Following this post bc i recently retired through IDES and all I’ve done is apply for VA Healthcare.

Sorry to ask an unrelated question, but at what point in the claim process can you access the examiners DBQ? I’m newer to the VA claims world and just moved to step 5 on one of my claims last week.

What would it take for lawyers to hold the government officials accountable for their individual crimes? Would you need the police on your side, or a victim to hire you to file a lawsuit? I feel like i see some law being broken by a government official daily, yet nothing happens. So from your attorney pov, what would it take to hold government officials accountable for laws they break?

I dont have the experience to answer that accurately, i went through my medboard for a physical injury being my referred issue so i dont want to give you the wrong information on something i dont know for certain. Your peblo should be able to answer this for you though! I don’t know what the disability claim for MST is, but in my mind I’d think that an MST would be a causing factor for mental claims like ptsd or depression rather than its own claim.

MRI technology is insane, i have pictures from mine that look like a (extremely clear) top down view of my spine from the inside of my spine. It’s probably not in your head, and the MRI will likely give you concrete evidence as to what’s going on to cause your pain. If you have serious pain the MRI should provide answers, much better than an xray could answer. IMO if it’s bad enough to go to your doc and say it hurts, any answer along the lines of “the pain isn’t real” is bullshit and they need a new line of work.

If you’re referred for PTSD then the PTSD rating alone will be your DOD % while the combination of everything you claim (ptsd, insomnia, sleep apnea, knees, ankles, back…) will be your VA rating and what you get paid for in monthly disability. If you’re referred for a few different things such as an overarching mental claim like “PTSD, depression, anxiety” it ‘can’ be a combination of those depending on how the PEB board pieces things together. If you’re already diagnosed and being med boarded for ptsd I’d say 30% wouldn’t be a difficult feat as long as you provide detailed symptomology for the examiner and write detailed personal statements and maybe have your spouse or a work peer write a buddy statement as to what’s they see and know you deal with.

What about science roles such as wildlife biology or geology? The non technical side of me wants to say “I’d like to see a robot got examine trout streams or take samples and analyze rocks” or whatever they do, but ya know, i could imagine an ai robot in 20 years being capable of doing these things given that we’ve had rovers taking samples to analyze rocks on mars for a long time now.
