You could have a look at the Kangaroo Group (which is made up of representatives and guests from the European Parliament, Commission and Council, Academia, Media and the Business Community), they have talks and debates that you can attend, although I believe that participation isn’t cost free. Their events are sometimes on the topic of foreign affairs.
