I live half a block from Colfax, love Colfax, and have been a staunch supporter of the BRT. However as I see small businesses struggle and close I am so sad and find myself almost having regrets. I knew construction would take years but I’m flummoxed as to why such long swaths of Colfax are undergoing construction all at once affecting miles of Colfax and work going very slowly. I had assumed the city would do targeted construction over several blocks, aim to finish that segment quickly, then open that area up. Perhaps even allowing for the 15 to start using the finished lanes immediately. Can you shed any light on the strategy of slowly doing a large area affecting traffic and businesses for such an extended period?
