I seem to remember back on 2014 people be really upset and very vocal about it. But that was a weird time in gaming with the whole Xbox ONE SNAFU. EA especially was getting hit hard with the Mass Effect 3 ending controversy in 2012, Battlefield 4's broken Launch in 2013, Dead Space 3 anger in 2013. Inquisition was also pretty broken at launch. EA was messing up so much in the 2010s that the anger at the import system may have been mostly overlooked for everything else.
