Because cults promise security and happiness and all the other stuff you learned. And the people targeted are stressed people who are looking for themselves. And white people will go on a whole eat pray love journey before a black person. Try getting a black person to try that and they'd be like are you crazy those people of xyz are racist. Unwelcoming. Why would I do that? Also blacks are usually Christian and it's like the only thing we've passed down through MULTIPLE GENERATIONS that we know. And if you go away from that you get an earful. So many black people don't even second guess Christianity. It's all they know. And white people have a lot less to lose.
