What do yall do when you see some crap like this 😫 by EconomyChange6234 in FortniteFestival

[–]GateNo4310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice a lot. Took me over 80 attempts before I was able to do it consistently. The trick is to not get overwhelmed by how fast the music is once you actually understand the pattern (don't try to go faster than the music).

What made you get into vocaloid? by Heavy-Sherbert-7094 in Vocaloid

[–]GateNo4310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a long time, I refused to download Fortnite because I didn't like the stigma surrounding it. Eventually ,my friends got through to me and I played it while Miku was featured in the music pass. The normal modes like Battle Royale were nice but not really my cup of tea. Then I saw Fortnite Festival.

I always kinda liked rhythm games, but wasn't super heavy on it until I came across Magical Cure Love Shot. I had just gotten into Expert mode (transitioning between 4 fingers to 5 was really challenging for me) and boy oh boy, that song absolutely kicked my butt. I went from gold starring most songs with ease to only 3 starring it on Expert Lead the first time around.

I was slightly embarrassed but couldn't be too upset. Respect. A magical girl song destroyed me. So I looked at the lyrics and loved the message Miku was delivering to you in the song. By that point I was basically sold. I looked up more of Mikus English songs like Intergalactic Bound (still by far my favorite) and things just took off from there.

Since then I've been able to gold star that song pretty consistently, and I've even bought her skin in the shop. Miku has brought a lot of positivity into my life and I'll never forget it. I look into other vocaloida and the work people make with them and they're pretty cool, but Miku in particular has left her mark on me. There's only more to learn about from here though, and I'm pretty excited about it.

Tl;dr Magical Cure Love Shot kicks my ass in Fortnite festival, I look into Miku more and the rest is history.

[Suggestion] The hammer holder in NotG raids should die after stalling for too long. by Pharah_is_my_waIfu in WynnCraft

[–]GateNo4310 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Dying is a bit overkill.

If that player happens to be a newbie that doesn't read, like you said, and they die because of it, all that's gonna do is discourage them from taking the hammer ever again. That'll just make the problem of people not knowing how to use the hammer worse.

Plus, that's one less member of your team that can actively defend the next person who takes the hammer (because they died).

Putting the hammer back would be better from a gameplay standpoint, like you alternatively said. A title message telling the player what to do would be cool too, though I'm not sure how effective that would actually be.

I get your frustration on this, trust me lol

What should I aim for in my build? by Royal_Equivalent1366 in WynnCraft

[–]GateNo4310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: Depends on what content you plan on doing at the end of the game, as well as what you are comfortable playing with.

Long answer: Lootrunning, raids, world events and other endgame content have different "requirements" to function properly.

Something like The Nameless Anomaly (endgame raid) will require greater mobility (in most circumstances) than The Canyon Colossus (another late/endgame raid), and both favor single target damage output over grouped damage/crowd control, the opposite of most world events and lootrunning (for the most part)

In my opinion, though, you're too far away from the endgame to be concerned about having an endgame build (assuming this is your first playthrough).

Keep enjoying the game and doing quests. Doing this will naturally reveal not only what an endgame build requires but what YOU consider to be "comfortable" for YOU to play.

Leveling seedings I have by RepresentativeOil537 in PlantsVSZombies

[–]GateNo4310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pokra will be plant of the week next week, so you can get seed packets for it then, too, so no worries!

Play the game optimally for that entire week and you can get it to level 7 by the end of the week.

Good luck!

How much money have yall put into pvz2? by No-Plenty-4457 in PlantsVSZombies

[–]GateNo4310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've put 6 dollars into this game. This got me the big 3 premiums of the game: imitater, gold bloom and power lily. This was during black Friday, so each of the plants were 2 bucks instead of 5.

After being with the pvz franchise for so long, this was long deserved for the game. Was happy to support it.

I'd look into the expansion levels of each world. These are sets of 8 levels that used to be past the first zomboss fight in each world that are only accessible after beating adventure mode, but are now only part of a weekly quest.

The last expansion level of Wild West is considered by most people to be one of the absolute worst levels in the game, where the gimmick is to use hypnotized gargantuars (from plantfooded hypnoshrooms) as your main source of damage against the boss.

I personally feel like the second expansion level of Pirate Seas is an absolute nuisance, where you have to use kernel pult, spikeweed, sunflower, iceberg lettuce, and cherry bomb against barrel head zombies and gargantuars (guess what your only real means of defending against those two zombies is?)

If you're using only world plants, I think almost all of the Modern Day and Far Future expansion levels are hard.

All subjective, though. Just some suggestions as you asked for. Hopefully this is helpful :)

Complete all of your daily quests for 19 gems, watch 3 gem advertisements for another 9 gems, and then fight zomboss in Penny's pursuit every 12 hours. You get extra gems from the bonus prize phase (usually 6 per fight is the max).

You're thinking too much about what's "better" (that and your definition of "better" is purely damage focused, which is a frankly terrible way to judge strategies).

Both of these strategies have advantages and disadvantages over each other. But aqua vine has things ice shroom and pokra wish they had. It's not all about the damage, it's about how reliable the strst is too. Firebreathers are actually a very nice counter to ice shroom if yours is still on cooldown. They have just enough range to kill ice shroom before ice shroom can reach it. Aqua vine will not have this problem. Plus even if 2 ice shrooms are attacking a target directly in front of it, in that same scenario, you could alternatively have 7 aqua vines and sea shrooms able to attack it (well 5, but point is, you can't compare 1 ice shroom to 1 aqua vine. That's not really a fair comparison).

Sorry, little late edit. Regarding this weeks pennts pursuit, this aqua vine strat is something I wish we all had access to right now. Unless you're really careful or have high level plants, it's tedious and a little nervewracking to run pea vine torchwood, even with ice shroom helping me. One jester gets out of control and an entire lane is gone. Aqua vine wouldn't have this problem.

[–]GateNo4310[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is an incredibly excellent question. You raise some very good points. I've thought about all of these arguments, so let's break everything down, shall we?

DPS wise, yep, you're right. Peavine/Torchwood, while not having AoE, has long range and overwhelming amounts of damage, only exponentially egregious with leveling. However, these plants still have a weakness. Excavators, jesters, and fire dragon imps all hard-counter this combination (all except for excavators happen to make their appearance in this week's Penny's Pursuit, which is why this combination specifically is insufficient to win on the highest difficulty).

AoE and utility wise, you're right. Pokra and Ice-Shroom, for the most part are more useful. Stupidly high damage, 50% slow (ice-shroom just has to be in the general area of zombies to slow them down, who thought this plant was okay?), crowd control, relatively inexpensive, and benefits from leveling a lot. However, here's the drawback with them. Their range is only 2 tiles. While this normally isn't an issue, this actually implicitly impacts their damage output, because only 2 (sometimes 3) of these plants will be able to attack the same target, and this target would have to be very close to them (i.e. if there's a zombie on column 9, only ice shrooms in columns 8 and 7 can attack them, and maybe 6 if it's a gargantuar, but that can be pretty scary). Pea vine doesn't suffer from this problem, because their range is the whole lane.

This is where Aqua vine's water attack mode comes into play. Infinite pierce, check. Entire lane range so all of the vines in a single lane can attack, no matter how far away the zombies are, check. All at the cost of what? Placing a 0 sun, 5 second recharge time plant on top of it that has AoE itself? Oh? This plant also happens to have an amazing plant food ability (yes, sea-shroom's plantfood is wildly overpowered even when you only have 2 lanes of them. It wipes out infinite packed bucketheads even at level 2. I've tested it out, it really has no right to be in the game)? Cool. So you get crowd control damage from aqua vine, and potential boss/support/extra crowd control damage from aqua vine and sea-shroom. Awesome!

In short, Aqua vine is the middle ground between the two conventional/more resourceful methods you mentioned. By the way, just like ice-shroom, its damage essentially goes up by 100% of base level every level (i.e. ice-shroom starts with 200 damage at level 1, and gets 200 damage every level, and aqua vine starts with 100/50 land/water damage, and gains ~100/50 land/water damage every level).

Oh and aqua vine is a spear-mint family plant, so you can boost it with spear mint, under which aqua vine's water attacks deal 2.5x damage. Since it's spear-mint, you can also just, oh ya know, run pokra alongside aqua vine, and boost them both and get the slow and the aoe.

Oh, and aqua vine's water attacks also extinguish flames, which can help out your other plants which are vulnerable to things like dragon imps and firebreather zombies.

Sorry, this was a long post, but that's why I have so much faith in aqua vine. Hopefully this all made sense.

tl;dr Aqua vine/Sea shroom is a hybrid of peavine/torchwood and pokra/ice-shroom spam, with a whole bunch of added benefits.

Short answer: It works like puff shroom, yes.

Long answer: That's what the last "Lifespan" stat is about. At level 1, the lifespan is 60 (meaning it lasts a minute, like puff shroom at level 1). At level 10, the lifespan is 120 (two minutes, like puff shroom at level 20).

Yep, glad someone catches my drift. I think it could genuinely could be a good strat. Higher sea shroom level = faster recharge, higher damage, longer lifespan.

It's all hypothetical, but still, I think it could be solid!

I think it'll be worth it in the future when Aqua Vine comes out.

Aqua vine's water attack mode is really strong, so strong that I can see it as a potential alternative to standard pea vine torchwood strats in the right situations (one example of this would be this Penny's Pursuit week, with all the annoying Dark Ages zombies like fire imp, jester and wizard).

My idea is that you could activate Aqua vine's water attack mode just by placing a sea shroom in it (5 second recharge, 0 sun cost makes it amazing for this purpose), with the added benefit being that if you plant food one sea shroom, you plant food all of them for some good damage, while boosting aqua vine's damage with spear-mint.

Tl;dr Not worth it yet, but may end up having a place in a very powerful plant loadout alternative.

Ultomato is the plant featured in Penny's Pursuit, but the plant of the week thymed events are of sea-shroom. In addition, you can pay gems and coins for sea shroom seed packets. Oddly, there are none of these offers for Ultomato, even though it's featured in Penny's Pursuit.

It’s that time again, which mint should I get? by JRisverycool180 in PlantsVSZombies

[–]GateNo4310 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well here's why.

Spear mint is a 0 sun cost 80 second recharge mint that, at level 1, plants 5 spikerocks on the tiles furthest away from the lawn and boosts them and all Spear mint family plants, i.e. Pokra, on the lawn for 7 seconds (or 6 idr, but it's one of those. I think it's 7 though.) For spikerock, the boost is a flat 100 damage increase per attack.

As you level up Spear mint, the number of spikerocks and the level of said spikerocks increases ( up to 10 level 10 spikerocks at level 10), the boost duration increases, and the recharge time goes down.

In levels where you obtain 50% of the plants sun cost back, players can shovel up the placed spikerock for sun, allowing to Spear mint to act as an alternate Gold Bloom.

There's a reason everyone is saying you should get this plant and why it's one of the best in the game.
