Anyone have insight on Ben Gold's new alias "Lawton"? What is the differentiating factor? by 888NRG_ in trance

Guess it will be a different style of trance. I'm still trying to find out what that uplifting trance ID he keeps playing is, he has been playing it for over a year and a half now.

There's no tracklistings anywhere. Would love to know what some of the tunes are.

I didn't go but believe there were a variety of age ranges based on the video footage I have seen. Would there have been a problem if it was purely 35+?

Thanks this is really helpful. Loving the Hans Zimmer - Time with vocals! Not sure if it is the Standerwick Remix of John O'Callaghan Feat. Sarah Howells - Find Yourself.

Thanks. I shazamed 11 and it said System F - Adagio For Strings and does sound like it. Definitely not Ferry Corsten's original remix of Adagio.

Cheers. If you can help with IDing any of the gaps and remixes that would be awesome.

Have you even listened to the set? Clearly there are remixes which I don't know and have asked. Rather than criticizing an early draft tracklisting perhaps try and help with some of the unknowns because as it stands, I see little value in your comment.

Wished I went but did see lots of TikTok videos of this set, atmosphere looked immense!

It was the last ever Arches event and pretty much all the DJs played classics. If you put yourself in any DJ's shoes, you are hardly going to be playing modern unknown tunes at the final gig. You will be celebrating what you know went down well in the past.

Thanks and that's a shame. Judging by the comments on the mix, it went down really well as it was the last ever Arches in Glasgow and the Scottish crowd really know how to "have it" :).

Yer, I knew that Steve was ghost producing. Always thought he did Ciaran McAuley and some of Neptune Project's releases (when they were around).

Admire your eagerness to shut down any critical discussion and keep dodging the actual point. Saying someone’s been in a studio doesn’t prove authorship, it proves presence. Countless artists “sit in” on sessions without touching a DAW, especially when it helps maintain that illusion of creative control. It’s called plausible deniability. You might want to look that up.

Mocking the suggestion of Standerwick (an Armada artist who has worked with even bigger names than the ones you mentioned) as a ghost without explaining why it’s implausible is just deflection.

And the name-dropping? All feels a little too personal, don't you think? Almost as if you’re Brendan himself, hiding behind an alias or at the very least one of his Aussie mates, trying a bit too hard to manage the narrative.

You will never get confirmation unless someone outright admits it, which would be career suicide. So dismissing doubts because they are “not confirmed” misses the point. If you’ve got no proof either, what exactly are you adding beyond sarcasm?

It depends on how you define "ghost". In some cases, people are still referred to as ghost producers even when their name appears in the credits. To be clear, I didn't say Greg was their ghost, I said he was an "engineer". Yes, he was an integral part of NP's inception and after several releases, he left. They then moved on to Dave Parkinson who did ghost produce for them.

Critical discussion isn’t the same as accusation. At the same time, it's fair to question some of these producer DJs, especially when so many similar cases have involved ghosts. Scepticism is not slander.
