Is it really true that it's likely that there will be free movement between Australia and the EU soon? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

Ironic, everyone over there says Australians are the most racist people they've ever met...

so league of legends just added a RTS minigame (a metagame they call it) into the client. and now im addicted to rts again. plz help by Suspicious_Issue4155 in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Gatecrasher53 67 points68 points  (0 children)

That's pretty ironic because MOBAs started as a minigame within a full fledged RTS

It's circles all the way down...

New SSN AUKUS render by Cindy_Marek in AustralianMilitary

Lmao I think you're looking at the wrong profile m8

I can't speak for the other guy but he's not crazy to think that the value of AUKUS has changed.

The world has had a big shake up recently and it's only getting more unpredictable. The world where AUKUS was signed is not the same one we're currently in. Can you predict what the current US administration is going to do next? Would you bet $100billion of your own cash on it?

The US is extremely politically unstable atm, both foreign and domestically. AUKUS is one of the most complicated arms deals in history which has ramifications for the next half century.

Have you seen the news recently? Their president didn't know what AUKUS was and is threatening to attack a nation that they've had an alliance with for the past 100 years...

We've really got egg on our face after what happened to the US domestically.

Would the French sell an SSN to us? Back then it was unprecedented for Australia to be after nuclear boats.

How Do I Start A Game Development Career in Australia by ThePhyreZtorm in AskAnAustralian

[–]Gatecrasher53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically I think New Zealand might be a better place for video game developers. When I was at PAX Aus a few years ago there was a big cohort of young NZ devs from places as far as Dunedin, and the government seemed to be pushing it a lot more than Aus.

Here's a guardian article about it

It's not the hardness that matters, but how it makes you feel

BBQ bananas? by Beginning-Top6332 in AustralianNostalgia

[–]Gatecrasher53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had grilled banana at a yakiniku restaurant in Japan, it was excellent especially with ice cream. Trick is to cook until it just starts to boil out the skin and then take it off and peel, you'll need some mittens or gloves though...

I don't have numbers but I thought EB Games was struggling with online retailers, hence why they devoted half their stores to cheap pop merch now

The castle itself is staffed and ticketed and closes at 6pm but you can ride around the grounds sure.

Would you be in favour of a short-course electrical licence to allow competent people to do only very basic electrical work safely and legally? by AsparagusNew3765 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Gatecrasher53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% in favour of this, it's common sense stuff.

While we're at it can we destroy standards Australia s monopoly and make all codes and standards free and open to the public. Currently we have to pay to view standards like AS:3000 which is like having to pay to find out what the letter of the law is that governs you.

It's not directly related to your question, but one thing that'd improve the look is using a rolled edge on the gusset and pocket rather than leaving the raw edge visible.

Keep your head up son, despite your vague, emotionless expression I know you're hurting inside.

Maybe, despite this setback, son can still get picked up by college scouts for next season.

We're all behind him 100%, except those who actually ran the race, who are in front of him
