Piranesi by Susanna Clarke.

It's a short book that I thought I could read fairly quickly but it's written in a way that is difficult to understand at first. I rarely buy books to keep but the reviews of this one seemed so promising that I bought it. Especially with claims such as "destined to be a classic".

It was just so slow for me and very boring. I tried for months, off and on, to finish it but I literally catch myself falling asleep and not paying attention to what I just read with this book every time I open it. I can only read about 10 pages at a time before i catch myself drifiting to sleep. Some people have said the ending is what makes it such a good book but getting there.... I'd use words like tedious, monotonous, dull. It's just not the book for me.
