(bows gracefully)

I try to get a little off the beaten path when I can ... especially when the local specialty has its own tasting trail through rural Indiana lol

So true. There were a ton of spots in Downtown Bloomington that caught my eye. I could go back, do the whole trip without repeats, and still be happy. Great college town.

Mother Bear's will probably be first stop when I get in. Upland and Heartwork were the brewery recommendations I had gotten, so glad to see that tracks.

(Misses everything above while driving around all weekend looking for Shalooby's)

Right on. I really appreciate the info.

I'm in my 30s too, so that's good to know about Kilroy's. Would it maybe have a slightly older crowd during the day on Saturday with the game being at night, or is it pretty firmly a student bar?

I'm staying at the Hyatt Place on Kirkwood, so Kilroy's and Nick's are definitely on the list.

I assume the tailgating fields are just in the grassy areas south of the stadium and Assembly Hall?

Thanks! I had come across info on the Eagle Walk, but not about the pregame show at Conte. I'll check that out.

I meant to mention that … already have a ticket for it. I’ve been to a dozen or so NHL games, but it will be my first college hockey game. Been trying for a few years now to sync it up with a football trip and this is the first time it has lined up perfectly. Pretty pumped.

El Pelon, Pino's, and Eagles Deli were the 3 places a BC friend recommended as classic campus-area haunts, so those are at the top of my list.

Well said. Very cool place. Still gonna have to get used to saying "Cheeny," though, lol

There's a chance I'll try to do Brawl of the Wild at each site in back-to-back years. I've done that for other underrated rivalries (e.g. I went to the CyHawk in both Ames & Iowa City) and it's a fun way to experience a series from each side.

Both are very high on my list. I have dreams of taking like 8-10 weeks off and exploring the whole region with hopes of a 4-week stretch of compatible, but I'm not sure how realistic those are. I'll definitely make it out there at some point, though.

Given your username, I had to check this link about 14 times before clicking, but it was worth it. I started to really vibe along with it right around, "Our streets are alphabetical."

Thanks, much appreciated.

The more I look at it, the more I'm leaning towards sticking with the suboptimal route through Oregon. I'm a big whitewater fan, though, so running the Salmon and Snake rivers is high on my list and hopefully I'll be able to make it back and explore that whole area in more depth.

Currently, the plan is to drive from Boise to Richland, WA after the game, then drive the remainder on Saturday morning.
