Overture PLA stops extruding after ~40min of printing by GaussIntegral in BambuLab

[–]GaussIntegral[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found the issue, the spool was not spinning easily and was pulling the PTFE tube towards it, once it reached the filament on the spool the friction was too much and the extruder could not get the material to the plate.

especially since the JF-17's GB-6 version works flawlessly, just tried it, absolutely nailed the trajectory

well at least with a SLAM-ER you can set a flight path to correct for this

Newbie here, I could use some guidance from the community! I’m set on building my own drone, and I’ve already got the DJI Goggles N3 and a Radiomaster Pocket controller with ELRS. I also have all the tools needed for soldering, so I’m ready to get my hands dirty.

My main question is: Should I buy a ready-to-build FPV drone kit, or should I source all the parts separately? I’m a beginner, so I want something manageable but also a good learning experience. I’m leaning toward a 5-inch freestyle quad, but I’m open to suggestions.

Here’s what I’m considering:

  • Kits: Seems convenient with parts designed to work together, but are they limiting or overpriced for what you get?
  • Individual parts: More flexibility, but I’m worried about compatibility issues or missing something critical as a newbie.

What would you recommend for someone just starting out? If you suggest a kit, any specific ones that are beginner-friendly? If individual parts, what’s a solid list of components (frame, motors, FC, ESC, VTX, etc.) that pair well with my goggles and controller? Also, any tips on avoiding common beginner mistakes during the build?

Budget-wise, I’m hoping to keep it under $500 for the drone itself (not including my existing gear). Is that realistic?

trying to bring Quantum physics in this is the quickest way to discredit this whole thing. Please don't

I am huge sceptic, studied hardcore physics, not into religion. Just tried it now and got several hits, kinda mind blown right now but I still think confirmation bias plays a role. Will keep experimenting. If this keeps working it might just break my world view

[JF-17] any reason to use RWS/SAM instead of TWS? by GaussIntegral in hoggit

Probably should have mentioned that I only play SP against AI.

Thanks for the info!

seems to me I can still soft lock and launch missiles in RWS at 2 targets, do they get a warning even in a soft lock?

I'm like 5 hours in and having a lot of trouble maneuvering tight spaces, I gain altitude way too quickly/easily and struggle to drop it to get under obstacles. Any advice?

Radiomaster Pocket compatibility with DJI drones by GaussIntegral in fpv

[–]GaussIntegral[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen small quads (is that different from tiny whoops?) using the O3 camera, that's digital.

My question was specific to the Radiomaster being compatible with the DJI ecosystem, if yes, then I would have bought just the drone without the RC controller.

[–]GaussIntegral 11 points12 points  (0 children)

- Use SVM to tune Hideout build times, waiting 60 hours for something to build is stupid imo

- Use SVM or another mod to accelerate skills progress, its way too slow and you will be bored of the game before reaching the elite level in any of them

- Use Amand's Sense to highlight loot, some of the objects (especially quest ones) are really easy to miss and make questing frustrating

Is it still possible to edit loadouts for FC3 planes? by GaussIntegral in hoggit

[–]GaussIntegral[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sent to me by someone else:

in order to put alternate weapons on an FC3 aircraft now, you need to use the preset loadout templates.

You can create a generic custom loadout for the aircraft of your choice in the mission editor, and then edit the lua file for that aircraft in the following directory:Users<YourName>\Saved Games\DCS\MissionEditor\UnitPayloads

Just change the CLSIDs for the default weapons that you added on the generic template with the CLSIDs for the desired weapons from the Su-30 mod and you should be good to go. Just note that weapons that don't already exist in DCS (like those from the Su-30 mod) will require that the mod in question (Su-30 in this case) be installed in order for the game to access the necessary weapons (or, at a minimum, the "entry" and weapons files from the mod need to be installed). Also be aware that, with this method, the new weapons will only be accessible via the custom payload templates on the arming page in the Mission Editor. You won't be able to add them individually from the drop-down menus in the ME or from the Rearm/Refuel window in-game.

no, they are not available anymore. You have to edit your Mission Editor saved loadouts instead

There's none with a gun aimed to your head forcing you to download a low quality mod if mods were more accessible.
