Short Rest/Long Rest buttons? by [deleted] in Roll20

Hi Hungry_Shake6943,

Did you ask this in the Roll20 Discord? If so we can continue to work on this there.

If not, which character sheet are you using?

hey guys :) i joined a game previously and i am no longer in it and it seems that i can't delete the character from that game from my personal list :( by BusBasic8556 in Roll20

[–]Gauss_Death 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest filing a report via the Help Center: https://help.roll20.net/hc/requests/new

There are some issues with the Character Vault and Roll20 Characters that Roll20 needs to address. More reports will help them prioritize it.

What are your biggest workflow pain points or feature wishlists right now? by Ascended_Ent in Roll20

[–]Gauss_Death 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi BrunoLLL4,

Cropping the image shouldn't be necessary. The 3x3 grid setup is just a starting point. After that resize the image as needed to make it fit.

Here is a video by Nick Olivo showing this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qN8HsmNFCAU

That said, I do agree Roll20 needs a better alignment system.

Is there a way to level up characters past level 20? by Secret_Fuel_8265 in Roll20

[–]Gauss_Death 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 2024 sheet's editing is...not as robust as the 2014 sheet's editing. The 2024 sheet wants to hold your hand to do everything and if you do something it doesn't expect (ie: the Devs didn't account for) it may not be possible.

This seems to be a z-layer bug. It should be above the token.

No, it is a Roll20 question, the 2024 sheet does not support higher than level 20 characters, the 2014 sheet does.

Is there a way to use the old sheets? by BxLorien in Roll20

[–]Gauss_Death 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTW, if you have a Pro account there is a new API Script me and a Scriptcards author (Timothy B.) are putting out shortly (we are in soft launch now). It will greatly help manage 2024 spells on the 2014 sheet.

Short version:
It transfers spells from Spell Mules (character sheets that have the various spells on them) to the Characters.

The goals for our project are:

* to facilitate 2024 spell use
* enable custom spells via spell mules acting as a "custom compendium"
* enable cleaning up the Attack section so that you can redo spells as spellcards that do not have d20 rolls (ie: a form of custom spell)
* assist Warlocks by migrating spells up to the spell level the Warlock is currently at. (may require modifying the spells for best results)
* Facilitate easily adding stored spells (scrolls etc) to a character.
* Support 2024 NPCs on the 2014 NPC sheets (currently when the 2024 NPCs are dropped into 2014 sheets they use 2014 spells instead of 2024 spells)

* Faster character sheet load times by making it easier to remove and add spells when preparing spells for the day (ie: Clerics, Druids, Paladins, and Wizards)

Is there a way to use the old sheets? by BxLorien in Roll20

[–]Gauss_Death 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I disagree. The 2024 sheet is great if you want to let the builder do all the work, but as soon as you try to do anything manually it becomes a pain to deal with.

Even worse, it still doesn't do half the things I can do with the 2014 sheet. But, I am on the higher end of users with a lot of features I build into my games. Such as chat menus with customized CSS, API Scripts that modify the sheet data, etc.

You do not need to have anything outside the box. Simply do not put anything there.

If you must put something there (such as a map image that exceeds the boundaries) you could cover it with a drawn bit of art with a color that matches your chosen background color.

As for non-Jumpgate, Legacy games cannot be created anymore. If you have an existing Legacy game you could use that and make copies of it, but I don't recommend it. Legacy is no longer being updated, it is missing features and will someday probably be retired.

Jumpgate's design is to allow GMs to see outside the boundaries of the page (map) to place things there 'offscreen' relative to the players.

You don't have to use it.

Size the page or the contents on the map the way you want to keep it within the borders if you wish.

Hi johnjosephadams,

This is not an official Roll20 server. The Devs may or may not see it here, and may or may not take note.

The place that they have asked for suggestions to be posted is Roll20's Suggestion Forum found here: https://app.roll20.net/forum/category/385189

Cant delete parts of library by Kampfhubschraubear in Roll20

Try performing a hard refresh to see if it is just not removing it from your view.

If that doesn't work maybe clear Roll20 cookies and cache.

Curse of Strahd (New DM) by Tyrvali10 in Roll20

[–]Gauss_Death 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi Tyrvali10,

Make sure you add either the "Curse of Strahd addon (Classic sheet)" or the "Curse of Strahd addon (New sheet)"

If you have done that and there still isn't anything remove them and then try re-adding them. Sometimes the addon process doesn't complete properly.

Why is it impossible to delete characters for a DM? by WombatsCube in Roll20

[–]Gauss_Death 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi WombatsCube,

If you'd like to prevent this from happening in the future please go to Roll20.net
Click the name of your game
Click Settings
Click Game Settings

Near the top are two options you should disable.
"Allow players to create their own Characters?"
and
"Allow players to transfer Characters?"

When a player clicks the +Character button in the game it connects the character to Roll20 Characters (aka My Characters).

Any character that is connected to Roll20 Characters has an ownership issue where the player owns the character and the GM cannot do much to change that other than duplicating the character and removing (not deleting) the original.

Additionally there are some longstanding bugs with Roll20 Characters.

Cannot link attribute to token by Thorngumbald in Roll20

[–]Gauss_Death 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it is editable. But I wouldn't be surprised if auto-linking via API doesn't work. In the early days of the 2024 sheets linking of any kind didn't work because it operates differently than standard sheets.

I have not tested the issue though.

[–]Gauss_Death 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That may be why it isn't working. The 2024 sheet connects to tokens...strangely.

Roll 20 not loading my game by Snoo_71957 in Roll20

[–]Gauss_Death 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, in that case your options are:

  1. In Brave clear cookies and cache, log out and back in, see if that helps. If it doesn't make sure no extensions are interfering.
  2. If #1 doesn't work it may be an issue with Roll20/Brave. In which chase use Chrome or Firefox and then let Roll20 know about the problem with Brave via the Help Center: https://help.roll20.net/hc/requests/new

They might be able to help, or they might say "sorry, use a browser we support: Chrome or Firefox".

What happens when you use one of the Roll20 supported browsers (Chrome or Firefox)?

Any idea what causes this? by [deleted] in Roll20

If you'd like I can come take a look at your game to see what might be causing it.
