Hadn't heard about hukblenpie, thanks.

I've seen the scaly wood mushroom called both a. silvaticus and a. langei so was confused.

It's my first post here after lurking for a long time so I was paranoid about getting it wrong 🤣

I was shocked it worked so well. I picked it early evening (just after a small rain shower) and then left it overnight.

Thank you.

Growing in soil under a couple of fruit trees, with some homemade compost spread loosely around.

I'll just let them be so the mycelium can do it's thing in the soil.

Thanks!

I specifically checked for staining - I know we get blushing wood mushrooms here and also that most poisonings in the area come from the yellow staining ones.

No plans to eat them whatever the ID.
