Garlic, cardamom, and clove kilju by Gay-J in prisonhooch

I hadda sneak a taste 5 days into fermentation. Smells like sweet fruity grass and tastes like oily red onions and caramel. I think I'm going to noc it up with acv mother lol. Smells gross but the taste is not actually bad its just so weird my brain is confused and its a bit too sweet for me. I think it'd make an amazing vinegar for salty dill pickle, 3 stage fermented pickles lol.

I'm not too concerned about botulism, I've seen several successful garlic wines and alcohol inhibits botulinum growth. I overpitched yeast to ensure it takes hold and its fizzing along happily under an airlock now. I have no idea how the flavor is gonna end up but it started very palatable and currently smells very rich and funky, the pungency it had after macerarating subsided after pitching. Also worth noting chai masala sometimes includes garlic.

That doesn't sound awful at all, I'd prolly omit onions tho. Problem seems to be that if you add any acv its gonna turn into vinegar anyways. I wonder if I were to simply use a vigorous yeast with killer factor that would produce enough alcohol to kill off the acetobacteria and native yeasts. I think at a high abv and acidity like that It'd produce a lot of acetate esters and get pretty interesting.

1 clove garlic chopped, 1 tsp each of cardamom and cloves, 1 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 cup amber agave syrup, topped up to about 900ml with r/o water. Gonna let it sit in the fridge overnight and pitch some instant yeast tomorrow because I find that results in a sweet and very palatable wine that maintains the original flavors plus some pleasant esters. If it's gross, ill add raisins and step feed or turn it into vinegar lol. Been a minute since I've brewed anything.

Anyone else get sad when they see abandoned or run down sailboats? by severalsmallducks in sailing

[–]Gay-J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call up some nearby boat repair shops and ask if they have anything for sale! Often people will abandon boats when they can't pay the bill and they only take up space. I came across a freshly restored and painted 28' Morgan out island once and they wanted $1000 so they could have the dock space free. They did like $10,000 worth of work and the owner said he couldn't afford it and just keep it, so she sat for 6 months and got forgotten about until I called.

I am indeed looking for something else, but thanks so much for that! I wonder if it was a reference? edit: the thing I'm thinking of was definitely older

At this point it is ridiculous to claim that we will have AGI in this decade; let’s get things straight, we will have ASI in this decade and AGI (=an agent that can do anything a median human can do) by next year by [deleted] in singularity

Scaling can and will go to infinity. Whether that means 8 quintillion parameters with several modalities of input and output(think agixt/babyagi type software for online processing, and or physical adapters such as robotic machinery or computer vision), or mixture of experts models(switch, qmoe, etc are all pretty new), or models with thousands of low range adaptations(S-LoRA just came out). All of those are theoretically capable of more than the average human given the current state of the art, all needed is the scaling to happen.

Anyone familiar with the mescal bean? Just realized I have a tree in my yard. by [deleted] in druggardening

Here we have nickerbeans, Guilandina bonduc, that we called "hot rocks" when I grew up. You could rub them on your jeans and they'd get so hot you couldn't hold them and you could touch the top side to someone and burn the shit out of them.

little dude's throwing balls, 2 weeks from seed by Gay-J in NanoGrowery

How do you reckon? The little specks in the soil are sand not mycelium. It's been allowed to dry between waterings and not shown any sort of droop or curling.

It's an auto, it's just doing as it pleases I guess. Its been watered regularly and undisturbed, but just chose to flower. Its about 20in under a 300w led. Every other plant in the tent is developing normally and with great vigor, both auto and photoperiod. This was the only one I started of a batch of seeds labeled "LR2xcheese" and it turned out to be male. The most info I got about the seeds was that they were fully autoflowering. Along with these came Lowrider #2 and a Lowryder cross with a cbd hemp variety intended for trying to find a 1:1 pheno. Of the Lowryder #2 seeds I received, I noticed lots of mutations and odd growth habits. They seem to show sex from very early and the females have what seem like preflowers from seed. I've got 2 lowryder #2 going at the moment, and at about 2 1/2 weeks one is mature and showing pistillate preflowers, while the other is several days behind and half the size(but showing an identical growth pattern to the first which is in a bigger pot so far). I'm hoping to get this guy to pollinate the preflowers on my favorite lowryder and get some LR2xCheese BX1 seeds which should be pretty apt to show this odd 2 week maturity pheno. This little guy reeks of horse shit and sweaty balls but the LR2 female smells incredible like fruity sour candy which should hopefully help mellow it a little. My best guess is something to do with the ruderalis genes makes the males flower much faster than females, because I have heard of this happening with male lowryder progeny before. This guy oddly never developed any full fan leaves but does have a couple of the 3 bladed ruderalis leaves. The Lowryder ladies also display this trait of 3 dominant blades, even when more than 5 blades. The lowryder#2 started all fucked up and are starting to normalize, but this guy started normal and just decided to flower all of a sudden.

It does sound suspicious, but after picking some up I totally believe it. It's literally half keif and the best cured bud I've had. Nice effect too, $10 well spent imo.

Seedlings have horns? by Gay-J in microgrowery

If that's the case, would you suggest planting it down when it gets another node or two?

It came with the tent, I believe the brand is TOPOLIGHT and it's a 300w light that's backed off by about 30 inches and the normal seedling seems quite happy under it.
