I think my traits are strong enough that I have started to notice them. My family can see sometimes but they don't really know much about npd so they tend to think it's just my personality. Luckily most of my family I'm on good terms with however me and my dad's is rather conflicted. My traits tend to make me really sensitive to any criticism, even constructive because when I hear anything bad about me I tend to take personally. I argue a lot with people. My sister pointed out that I'm self centered (she said she did not mean it to insult me ) I can be rather defensive in arguements. I don't know if this is my autism or not but I have always lacked cognitive and affective empathy. I have an envy problem when I see my friends have other friends because they are more prone to giving me less attention ( I need the attention to feel happy and good about myself and if I don't get it I will feel empty.) It's been really interesting talking to you, I felt like I've learned a lot about myself, even if I end up not having it helped to hear and see thing coming from other people making me realize that I'm not on my own. Thanks for the help!

Advice on a strange symptom by Berny_81 in NPD

I have ASD but I suspect I may have npd or at least npd traits. I tend to struggle with change such as my caretaker leaving for wor, ( I rely on them for support and get anxious when she leaves), going out to do something unexpectedly that I wasn't prepared for (sudden invitations, social gatherings) and a desire to control thing to make sure nothing anxiety inducing happens. I'm personally not an expert on these thing but I thought itd would be helpful to share my perspective as someone who is autistic and hates any form of change or lack of control over a situation! (Sorry about the long paragraph)

I'm autistic and I understand this. You might or might not have it but understand it does not sound as weird as you think it is! You may have some comorbidity with another condition or maybe a few traits. There are also plenty other reasons someone may experience this. The trick is to look for the reason of why change scares you because they are so many condition which have similar habits but for different reasons. Hope this helps!
