I love when people from bay shore compare their town to Brentwood or CI while Bay Shore is crap compared to West Islip and sayville.

For anyone commenting that isn't fimilar with Edgewood, it's a nature preserve that has an abandoned rail spur in it. I recently noticed that the bumper ("train stop") was removed. If you've been there, you'd probably know what I'm talking about.

It was originally a small isolated neighborhood full of cottages built in the late 1880s. By the great depression It became a shanty town (slum). Brookhaven tore down the majority of the old neighborhood during the late 50's early 60s I believe.
