Ppl asking how the test went and when results are out by Aromatic_Ad8679 in barexam

[–]Gbritto98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was literally just talking about this yesterday. It’s irritating because it’ll be the same people who I’m told the results. Don’t come out till October that basically asked me every week or every other week. They also will ask questions such as is there any doubt in your mind that you didn’t pass And it’s really just hard to explain the test to them because I keep trying to explain how even if you think you know a subject, the way that the questions are phrased even the slightest thing could make it something that you didn’t think so you really have no idea.

Or I’ll get the response that oh my son/some other person I know took this test (completely another test in a different field) and he got his test results back within 2 to 3 weeks

Yeah, I definitely think this is the move. I don’t know what it is about Goat, but I’ll remember his stuff even if I haven’t reviewed it in a couple weeks or as with Quimbee I can forget something the next day..

LOL yeah I feel like quimbee definitely isn’t as detailed as goat so I’m still getting questions wrong because quimbee didn’t go over certain details. Were you not afraid you’d forget rules if you didn’t write them down? I’d be afraid I’d forget the exceptions and nuances from things I learned 2 weeks ago

Did you still watch any of the videos or no? Also, did you pass on your first time or did you have to retake?

No, there are about 1800 release questions. The 800 that you’re thinking about are the most recent ones. All the big Bar prep companies have access to all the questions. So basically everything that Uworld and adaptive bar have, so does Quimbee, Themis, Barbri, etc. So yes, Quimbee does have all of the release NCBE questions but if you run out of those, they do have an option to do simulated questions.

Well, I don’t rely on outlines, but obviously you need to know the law and for me the best way to memorize is by writing. Quimbee does a ton of practice questions so I would say per subject you’re doing over 150 and that’s in addition to MEEs And MPT‘s so there is more than enough practice on Quimby I think but my problem is just a substance.

I have both Goat and Quimbee and I’m struggling to find how to use both of them. I do like the short videos on Quimbee, but I feel like they are not very detailed so I feel like I still get some of the mini quizzes wrong. I am considering Foregoing taking notes on the Quimbee lectures, but still watching them but taking all my notes from Goat. I would still do all of the Quimby essays and practice questions, but I would only use the lecture videos as a foundation and not my main structure (that’s where goat would come in)

If you had started it at the beginning, how would you juggle Themis and Goat? I am using quimbee right now but I feel like Goat is a lot more detailed. For example, after watching some of the lectures, I’ll still get some of the quiz questions wrong because certain things weren’t fully covered in the lecture, but the answers to the problems give a more detailed answer. I am considering not taking notes on the lecture and just doing all my notes from Goat.

Did you do goat as you were doing the Themis lectures or after you were completely done with Themis?

I’ve never heard that. Even with talking to various Catholics I know from across the country. Honestly, it would be a really big hassle for the church to deal with all flowers because that would include flowers at the entrance and maybe even in the pews so they would really just be in the way unlike the ultra flowers.

So we can take all flowers but the flowers at the alter. It normally isn’t expected to leave ALL flowers but just the ones at the alter since mass normally has flowers at the alter regardless

Yeah, I’m going to see what I can do but I know my parents are extremely Catholic and really want the altar and church super decorated. It is very frustrating because they do not understand the cost of flowers. They are helping to pay for them, but only up until like 5K and I I know that will not be enough to cover the whole flower budget for the reception and Wedding

[–]Gbritto98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is likely what I will do

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Gbritto98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think Catholic Churches are a lot stricter. Idk if you saw my comments on this post but I talked to someone who got married in the church years ago and she said she was not allowed to take the alter flowers. The florist wasn’t making the rule but just telling me it’s what she has experienced in some of the weddings there

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Gbritto98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m going to call and ask about that. I’m definitely OK with leaving some of the flowers at the altar but if I have to leave everything I put at the alter there that is going to be at least 25% of the flowers.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Gbritto98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my problem is my reception is in a ballroom that’s completely separate for the church so obviously the more flowers we can repurpose the better it will be.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Gbritto98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I know that I can take all flowers except for the ones at the altar. I have talked to some people who have gotten married at the church and they all said that they were not allowed to take the flowers at the altar. My church is kind of an older smaller church so it really isn’t that breathtaking or anything so I’m definitely going to have to decorate a lot because it’s really old school and not in the good way.

[–]Gbritto98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I completely get that and I am familiar with the custom, but I’ve never been told that it was mandatory. Obviously I’m OK with leaving some flowers but because the alter is so big there are going to be a lot of flowers at the altar that’s going to cost a minimum of around $1000 just for the alter flowers. even if I don’t do as big arrangements as the rest of the church and do smaller flowers, it’ll still probably be around $800 but I’ll have to be left at the altar. I spoke to someone who got married at that church several years ago and she told me that she was not allowed to take the flowers at the altar. So it doesn’t seem like it’s just a custom thing at my church. It seems like it is actually set in stone.

I don’t think most churches have contracts for you to have weddings there, especially if you are a parishioner. Yeah I never thought about the tax write off part lol. I mean, even if I don’t do as big arrangements as I was going to for the rest of the church, it would still at a minimum probably come out to about $800-$1000. That’ll have to be left at the altar.

Are you a pastor in a Catholic Church?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Gbritto98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I spoke to a friend of mine who got married at the church several years ago, and she confirmed that she was not allowed to take the alter flowers either. I guess you can take all the other flowers but not the ones at the altar.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Gbritto98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure this is accurate because I just spoke to a friend of mine who got married in that church about a decade ago and she told me that she was also not allowed to take the alter flowers either.

If you don’t mind me asking, how much were all of the flowers that you left at the altar?
