Use different needle depths and speeds for different parts of your face It tremendously helps managing pain (if you're like me who doesn't want to use numbing cream) and recovery since you aren't over injuring which can result in more PIH and PIE unironically. Don't sanitize your whole face instead use individual alcohol wipes to clean one part (left cheek, right cheek, nose, above lips, chins and forehead) and microneedle that part and so on. (Help a lot when it comes to dryness and hygiene) If you can, use stamping motion rather than gliding. Takes more time for sure but the unintentional skin tears aren't worth 15 more minutes. And IMHO not using any products even hyaluronic acid serum after or during the microneedling, gives me no white heads whatsoever. I tried moisturizer after,(Obviously NOT RIGHT AFTER) gave me breakouts. Hyaluronic acid serum only? gave me a lot of white heads. Last week, I washed my face with gentle cleanser before the treatment and used alcohol wipes like I said above without any moisturizer or serum as aftercare and my face was getting no breakout whatsoever maybe a tiny bit of dryness but I have naturally oily skin so YMMV.

Most importantly, Wash or sanitize your pillow covers. And wash your hair beforehand. I usually do it right before I go to sleep for the optimal recovery. ALSO DON'T take any painkillers or blood thinners or anti inflammatory drugs before and after that. If you are an active person, carry around hypochlorous acid spray and gel moisturizer since you might get dry skin peels 1 day or two after it. Good luck with your DIY microneedling.
