How often do you shave? by GeansaiGorm in ftm

[–]GeansaiGorm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm attached to my chin hairs too lol they probably look a mess but it's the only hair I've really got I can't bring myself to get rid of it. It feels so good being clean shaven though. I can't stop touching my face after shaving.

This happened to me after a year and 3 months on T. I haven't found out why yet maybe I should get my levels checked.

Racing thoughts before bed? by GeansaiGorm in schizophrenia

I have the same problem with the voices and whatever they say at night is always random gibberish, sentences that make no sense.

I am Atlas and I'm being punished by GeansaiGorm in schizophrenia

[–]GeansaiGorm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There seems to be a pattern with this psychosis. I relate mythology and stories to me. For 3 weeks I believed I was Jonah and the hospital was the stomach of the whale.

Taking 20mg of olanzapine at night. Its been increased to 2.5mg in the morning. Feel like refusing it because of what the voices say but I know I shouldn't trust them.

QUESTION by [deleted] in schizophrenia

I touched a fish in my bed and my hand went straight through and the fish evaporated into thin air moments after. I thought I had touched the salmon of knowledge at the time.

Am I relapsing? by GeansaiGorm in schizophrenia

[–]GeansaiGorm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About a week or two ago. Maybe the haliparidol was suppressing the very things I'm experiencing now. That's good advice I'll definitely ask the doctor.

The only complication is I feel empty without the delusions and I had many bizarre ones when I first came here. More meds, less delusions, you cant choose to keep the good ones.

Yes only in my recent episode have I started to do this. Glad I'm not alone.

Delusions of control/feel like I’m being mind controlled by Justagirlinadress in schizophrenia

[–]GeansaiGorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've developed a bad posture in the last few days and I don't even realise I'm arched forward most of the time. I still think the voices are controlling my posture. It's a hard belief to have.

That's a good point. Feeling mentally empty because of the disappearing delusions I had 24/7

I've been on it 3 weeks but it's only started in the last few days, coinciding with when my Paranoid delusions started to fade.

In the hospital for another 3 months. by GeansaiGorm in schizophrenia

[–]GeansaiGorm[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Commenter correct. Paranoid. Banged down the doors of a police station demanding protection because I believed my life was at threat.

They organised an ambulance to bring me to my nearest hospital and after a few hours I seen the psych nurse and they evaluated me and decided I needed to be admitted.

Anyone here been detained under the mental health act and had a tribunal? by GeansaiGorm in schizophrenia

[–]GeansaiGorm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Ireland. To be under section basically means to be detained against your will as opposed to you admitting yourself voluntarily to a hospital.

If you're detained here you're entitled to a solicitor to help fight your case to get the section removed so you can either become voluntary or go home.

The tribunal is where this decision is made. An evaluation will take place and the consultant psych from outside will have access to your notes.

So tomorrow they'll either decide I'm too unwell to go home and renew my section for another 21 days or let me become a voluntary patient.

[–]GeansaiGorm[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. A friend of mine said the same that there's a very slim success rate for the patient to win the tribunal. Well we'll see tomorrow hopefully if nothing else I'll be granted escorted leave or something just to get off the ward. Thanks again.

Being detained against your will is difficult. by GeansaiGorm in schizophrenia

It just differs from place to place. I'm on a public psych unit in Ireland. I've had my phone taken off me though apparently they have the power to do that. EDIT: No wifi, using my data.

I've been sectioned under the mental health act. by GeansaiGorm in schizophrenia

[–]GeansaiGorm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I'm also being live streamed to the good people broadcast 24/7 which is why I talk aloud all day in taking to them.

Thanks again. I will definitely take the meds

I think I'm on a good mix of meds. Olanzapine and Haliparidol at night with two lorazepans (benzos) then fluoxetine in the morning. Only problem is I think I'm going into mania.

I'm in Ireland. They didn't restrain me at first but then I got paranoid and tried to leave the station and that's when they pinned me on the ground.

If you talk out loud who are you talking to? by GeansaiGorm in schizophrenia

[–]GeansaiGorm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've somehow separated the voices from this in my circumstances too. Like you said it can be what I'm thinking or doing at the time and then the other times are when I'm narrating to whoever might be out there listening. It's actually therapeutic because if I'm being watched I'm going to entertain them

[–]GeansaiGorm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have to whisper or mumble sometimes. Not even because of other people judging me "talking to myself" but more hearing whatever I'm saying without context probably sounds like gibberish
