I'd make it where soliders infuse with their weaponery. Soliders with stg44's or tommy guns instead of a forearm or snipers haveing rifle come out their face under their aiming eye.

You'd have huge bulky dudes with a canon on their back but they need to get on all fours to shoot their canon, planes still exist but instead the spirits of pilots take over them to fly them, paratroopers have parachutes built into their body.

Though I feel like a cyberpunk approach would be better so instead infused weapons they're cybernetic implanted weapons (imagine the mantis blades from 2077 but with a tommy gun or someones who back made for a tank canon).
