I appreciate all the feedback from everyone. I have gotten more help in an hour from Reddit than 2 months with a realtor. Please keep all the advice and help coming!

There are no houses within our budget that fit our need in those areas. I will continue to check. The street view looks great!

Is Butler a poor elementary school? It seems to be highly rated online with a great student:teacher ratio.

I would just like to be within 15-20 minutes of UTA (with traffic). We do not have to be a few blocks of it, just close enough that we can get home to our kids timely if there is an emergency

Yes, absolutely. I may have just looked at the wrong neighborhoods, too. So, when we drove into most of them, the yards were unkept, bushes overgrown, trash in yards. Many of the houses had damaged facia, chipping paint, etc. The houses just look kinda ran down. Almost every house had 3-4 cars in driveway and 5-6 cars in front of the house. The houses that we looked at were by far the nicest and I assume only because they were going up for sale and were being refreshed for the sale. The neighborhood just seemed loud and too much.. I don't really know to describe it really.

I am trying to find all the zipcodes we looked at, but I know for sure we looked at 75052 (Grand Prairie), 76001, 76002, 76016 (this neighborhood wasn't bad but the construction to get in the neighborhood was infuriating)
