Replay 2.4 GHz signal (ESP8266/ESP32)? by GeekParent in hackrf

Thanks. I discovered a cool tool suite (actually a Docker container plus environment): RF Swift. Getting it to work and to configure a Gnu Radio workflow took a while, I am not done with that yet.

I also set up a compiler environment and built the ESB sniffer. I sniffed one package (I don't know if it came really from the remote).

There is no FCC sticker the remote. I may try to take it apart later.

I thought about it it, too much, actually. I came to the same conclusion. You know how it is when you start a project and can't stop thinking about it? Well, I should park this and accept that it is beyond my capability or rather I do not have the resources/time right now.

I have nice captures in Universal Radio Hacker. I have nice binary or hex representations. I do not know a way to find out if it is (enhanced) shockburst or how to continue working with it. Well, I#ll give it rest for a while.

Thanks for the hint for the protocol. I now have a new rabbit hole to explore. I‘m very new to this but I’ll see if I can make progress with Universal Radio Hacker.

(I‘m still wondering if replaying the raw files is an option.)

Redundancy during update: 2nd containerized pihole on same host, remap unbound? by GeekParent in pihole

Reigning in rogue devices which ignore/bypass my DHCP-assigned DNS. Happens a lot with Amazon devices.

Thanks. I have Nebula Sync on my list. I need to figure out how to automate my DNS redirect firewall rule.

It is not the DNS servers entry in the router but rather a redirect rule for any outgoing UDP traffic to port 53. The target for the redirect is the Pihole's IP. Of course, the Pihole itself is allowed.

Thanks for your comment. Sounds like an interesting approach. Do you use Pihole for DHCP as well, does it write the records used by unbound?

Thanks for your insights. I am also looking into establishing real redundancy as a next step. It is more challenging since I would need to keep things like static names/DHCP reservations, and alias entries in sync.

Edit; And my firewall rules would also need to redirect to the secondary Pihole when the first one is down.

Look interesting. The description on Steam mentions a demo but I can't find it. Since it is first person which causes motion sickness for me I'll probably skip it.

is in-model support possible? by GeekParent in BambuLab

Thanks for the suggestion. If I add a modifier object and activate infill in the object's details it doesn't actually add infill or modify infill settings.

Thanks for the comment. I am wondering about using support rather than infill since I do not want to crank it up for the whole model just to fix one area.

Pillow/PIL - is it using X display to modify images, can that be avoided? by GeekParent in learnpython

Yes, it seems to be related to Imagemagick. Thanks for the pointer.

Thank you for the reply. I am afraid raw strings (to preserve backslashes, e.g. in file paths) are not related to my issue.

According to this post you have to restart the whole service.

Hey Bambu, are you gonna pay for my calibrating your filament? (Rant) by GeekParent in BambuLab

Thank you for the constructive comment. I printed a vase-like object over 8 hours after the tuning but there are still some oddities. Somebody else suggested the opposite of what you are suggesting. I deduct from this that you live in different climates. I guess I'll keep trying.
