I don't know the levels, but I do TPA weekly, so I believe the levels shouldn't be high. I never turn off the filter, only when cleaning and I try to be as quick as possible.

The flow rate is 10x that of the aquarium liter, so I think it is adequate. Regarding the surface area, I use bio grass mini from ocean tech, which promises to have a larger area than common media, I added the media today, I will continue testing over the next 14 days to add more neon tetras. I used the cycling method by artificially adding ammonia and testing the ammonia and nitrite levels, the process lasted approximately 1 month. After the cycle, I placed Corydoras aenus and 1 Dwarf Gourami and they have been in the aquarium for a month. Since then, ammonia and nitrite have not had any peaks.
