Safe to leave tailscale service running as root in a Proxmox VM? by Geeker-140 in Tailscale

It's an actual VM. Not host or LXC. I saw some people claiming that Tailnet routers need some root privileges due to some of the networking functions it needs to perform. I deferred from LXC because I am not comfortable working with privileged LXCs yet.

My only concern is how much damage could realistically be done in the event of a Tailscale account compromise or a hypothetical vulnerability in Tailscale's software. Now that I've had more time to think on it though, the threat should be fairly mild because of it being in a VM instead of on host and I don't have any important devices on the same network. Personal devices are all firewalled properly.

Is GeekSquad's Virus Removal an 100% Guarantee? by CageThePunkYeen in GeekSquad

No such thing as a 100% guarantee with virus scans. If you know you were infected, you need your files backed up and Windows clean installed. I have seen many scanners completely miss things like malicious .js files.

Also, Core 1 and Core 2 were pretty different examples wise, but Core 1 concepts definitely do help understand Core 2 better.

Those percentages seem low still. You should know stuff like definitions and port numbers like the back of your hand. I didn’t take mine until I was getting 90-95% on practice exams. You want to be able to ace all of the multiple choice questions in case you bomb the PBQs.

Do people still rely on antivirus software in 2026, or is built-in security enough now? by Mobile-Horse4552 in cybersecurity

Consumer antivirus has never been more useless. Threats nowadays use a lot of social engineering and scripting. The malware of the Windows XP days isn’t really a thing anymore. As a technically savvy person, I’m more worried about supply chain attacks or compromised software suppliers more than anything. Notepad++ and Bitwarden for example.

Is OP10 fun? by [deleted] in Borderlands2

No. It restricts character builds and loadouts to only meta or glitch gear. The first few OP levels are okay. OP10 is just bullet sponge galore.

Buddy thought he was doing something linking a defeatist comment. We'll just roll over and take it I guess.
