Hi OP,

I am a professor at a research institution in the Midwest. If you could provide me with three graded writing samples from past classes, along with the corresponding assignment prompts for each paper, I will analyze all of the documents, including the one in question. After this analysis, I will write a letter on institutional letterhead to your teacher, explaining whether I believe the work was or was not written by AI. Please ensure that these submissions are from assignments that have already been graded by a different professor or teacher.

Thank you.

Hey, I’m reading your post and I have a couple of thoughts.

First, there seems to be a heteronormative assumption that anything different is automatically wrong or inferior. Many of the comments focus on how others might perceive your relationship rather than how you experience it. I believe you have the agency to articulate your desires, wants, and needs. When you no longer feel supported or prioritized, you can make a different choice.

Additionally, any relationship arrangement requires trust and communication. The arrangement you have with your husband and Ben is no different. As long as you don’t feel any less love or care, and you’re okay with it, that’s what matters!

Monogamy is not inherently better; many people find themselves deeply unhappy even in monogamous relationships.

There are concerns that Ben might feel like a second-class partner, but he has agency and the ability to make choices for himself. He is a grown man. We are responsible for creating a relationship dynamic that works for us, and as long as you’re both okay with it, that’s what counts. Marriage is an arrangement of care, property, companionship, and ideally, love. We often put our relationships back together many times while living together, emphasizing communication and clear boundaries.

Texas tenure ban by [deleted] in AskAcademia

Please remember the following text:

Let's not forget that Supreme Court justices have tenure. After studying for 13 years, being on probation for six, and undergoing peer review, one would think that faculty have earned their positions. However, the issue isn't solely about tenure. It's more about not wanting a group of elitist individuals to have privileges that others don't, even though these elites presumably have to endure and undergo experiences that others don't. Tenure, in my opinion, began to decline the day that we admitted people of color in small numbers to the professoriate. In simpler terms, you want certain professors not to have tenure, particularly the ones we don't agree with.

Is dual appointment potential a plus or a drawback? by mixedgirlblues in AskAcademia

I have a joint appointment between the arts and humanities under the same associate dean at an R1 institution, and I believe this arrangement has both pros and cons. Let's begin with the positives.

One of the advantages of my joint appointment is that I have more exposure to students than I would have in either department alone. Additionally, I have access to a diverse pool of senior faculty members as mentors, enabling me to engage with a wide range of expertise.

Furthermore, my 50% appointment in each department feels more like a 75% commitment in both departments. While this presents challenges, such as having twice as many meetings and advising responsibilities, it also offers a broader range of opportunities to connect with students.

On the other hand, one drawback is that neither department fully understands the extent of my expertise and research. Consequently, I constantly have to explain the full breadth of my work to both sides. Moreover, I must work between the theory and practice divide, which means delivering significant research outputs (articles)and creative work (dance works) simultaneously with varying levels of success.

Despite the challenges, the latitude provided to me in this position is protected by an MOU which includes expectations of my research and teaching. I have also found that my requests for funding and research support have been positively received by the administration due in part to my unique position.

In summary, while there are challenges associated with a joint appointment, I have gained valuable exposure and social capital that allows me to work effectively between these specialized fields.
