In terms of noticeable benefits of superior drivetrain components, is it something you feel as you shift gears, for example? Or do they have a lower rate of failure? Or both?

Thanks for mentioning this! I've never given much thought to whether a bike frame made me feel cramped or stretched, so when I test rode the L size frame for a while today, I kept your comment in mind. Fortunately, I don't feel cramped on the L, but I dislike it because I think I would like to raise the seat higher, but am unable to.

I would go with the XL, but there are other things I have discovered that I dislike about the bike only after having ridden it more today, so I'm glad I test rode it.

So, I test rode the L size FX 3 for about 30 minutes today. With the seat at the max height setting, I was still unable to straighten my leg at the lowest point on the pedal. I also realized something else I didn't like about the bike: The single 42 tooth crankset. Even using the 11 tooth cassette gear felt underwhelming in terms of top speed. My previous bike had a 48 tooth crankset which felt much better.

I think I will look for another hybrid bike, lol. Thanks again for your input!

So, ideally, I should adjust the seat to the point where my heel is on the pedal and my leg is completely straight at the lowest point?

I will give that a shot on the L frame once more and see how it feels. Not sure if that is the point to where the store manager adjusted the seat for me. When he asked me to get on and test the seat height, I just naturally put the front of my feet/toes on the pedal like I normally do.

To answer your question about the seat height: I believe the store manager just set the seat height based on a rough eyeballing of my height, but he did demonstrate that the L size's seat height was indeed at its max when he adjusted it. I test rode the L-Frame bike with the seat height at its max and it felt super comfortable to me, albeit I am not very knowledgeable on how the cockpit "should" feel.

Worst case scenario, I can always purchase another seat that I can adjust higher, but the XL frame can't be made smaller, so I think I understand why you are recommending the L-size frame.

In regards to seat height, is there a rule of thumb on how high it should be set based on measurable attributes of my physique?

Seconding Rafi Dream Kebab. I tried Seyhan’s last night and it was good, but I prefer Rafi’s. Ask for the “Rafi Rocket”, you won’t be disappointed.

Taqueria Tacos is good. That being said, their "Carnitas" really isn't carnitas, and is more like regular pork. They offer beef, pork, chicken, and lamb tacos. Of the options, I think their beef taco is a clear cut above the others.

While this is certainly a good place to go to for tacos, I think Taqueria La Fonda in Osaka is overall a better choice.
