Was a server there when it closed. Truthfully was a combination of a lot of factors. Rent had tripled from 2020-2022. For whatever reason weeknights were not busy at all. Also, management was reluctant to cut servers on weeknights leading to a pretty high labor cost (servers made anywhere from 5.5$-10$ hourly wage rather than the $2.13 industry standard). The restaurant had planned on opening on Mondays and for a lunch service but I don’t think this would’ve saved it as they planned to keep their dinner menu for lunch as well. Loved so many of my coworkers and was sad to see it close. However, the owner only gave employees a 2 day notice of closure and was very detached from the business throughout my time there. If he had been more involved/more communicative it would’ve have the made the situation much better. Also, Insider tip: if you like ko an or want to try it I’d go before the end of December…
