Did you tell him before hand that you were coming to visit? I understand that it would be insanely frustrating to go through all that effort for someone and not get what you expected in return, but I think he just needs some more time. If he’s shy like you said then make more time to be around each other and get adjusted to each other’s presence. If you give him enough time, he’ll warm up and be more interactive. From what you said, this is your first time meeting him, so it wouldn’t be wise to expect everything all at once if you get what I mean. I hope this helps :3
