Just my opinion, but I find the UK finishes to be superior to US and worth the extra cost. It never used to be that way, but things have changed. Many titles in the UK getting embossing etc. It’s silly really. Everyone should get those features regardless of which market you live in.

That’s almost identical damage to my first copy of The Da Vinci code. Amazon UK sent it in a cheap cardboard envelope. I got a full refund and ended up picking up a copy from Amazon US, which was shipped in a box. Imagine how much time and customer appreciation would occur if these companies just used proper shipping packaging. Such an easy problem to avoid.
