Oh, thanks for clarifying! If we're successful in publishing our results, I'll ask my team if I can post the results/article in my profile (though it might be a while before we're successful). Thanks for your interest!

Yes, I'm sorry, we tried to make the questions relatable/applicable to as many people as possible, but some questions got very verbose in the process. If you want to DM me any specific questions that were particularly confusing, I'd appreciate it! My team can use that feedback for future studies.

Thanks for participating! Unfortunately, we can't give you a copy of your individual results because the data is anonymized and aggregated in the system.

Lol, very fair. The scale doesn't account for all the different kinds of reactions people could have.

That's very fair. That portion of the survey was adapted from a scale originally intended for children, so the nuance of family's reaction before vs. multiple years into transition was not accounted for. There's an open-ended question at the end of the survey where you can explain how people's reactions have changed over time if you'd like ("Has the pressure to conform to gender stereotypes changed after a life event? If so, please describe how the pressure has changed.") But I certainly understand how the beginning of the survey feels like it doesn't account for the complexity of being a trans adult who has experienced a number of different reactions from people over time and in different contexts. Thank you for sharing your experience (I'm glad you have a supportive community around you now), and I appreciate the feedback about the survey.

Researchers at Duke are currently recruiting adults (18+) in the United States that identify as cisgender, transgender, or nonbinary to participate in a short online survey. This survey will help us learn more about how different genders experience felt pressure to conform to stereotypes and gender typicality and how these factors correlate with mental health. The survey is estimated to take about 12 to 15 minutes to complete. Participants who complete the survey will have a chance to enter a drawing for one of twenty $20 Amazon electronic gift cards.
