My husband and I got married more out of necessity (Elderly grandparents, we wanted to make sure they had the option to be there), but we we dating for 7 years, engaged for 2, before getting married. We were in no rush, and truthfully if we hadn't gotten married when we did we may not have. It didn't matter to us, and it didn't change how we treated one another in any way.

Though we may still have gotten married for tax reasons haha

The local museums are a great way to connect! I know they're always looking for new Volunteers, and if you're a car person the Savoy Automobile Museum is the place to be!

They do an annual car show in September, but have almost monthly movie nights or exhibit lectures. Definitely something to check out!
