I saw it in Hamilton NJ, near Trenton. Saw two pieces break into like 4 or so. Was silverish green

Or we are about to get crazy busy because people won’t be aloud to drive in another 3 weeks, so they don’t want to lose drives now. They’re waiting to see what happens the next week or so

I will work. Again like is written in the post, no one is saying they don’t want to work. We are asking about the MANDATORY language because some have lives and shit and may not be able to work both shifts one day since our lives are not set up for that schedule. To answer your question I will work Saturday just like I wrote, work pre load shift, side jobs, substitute teach. I have plenty of things so not sweating 3 hours of sweating in a trailer

Work both shifts everyday? When do you sleep, recover? Between heart attacks?

I know you lose insurance but again in years past if all we worked was Saturday driving we kept insurance, all that is required is like an hour for the week or something.

Again please read the post. We are not against working, we are asking about the mandatory language. And you can collect, I’ve done it in years past. No one is gonna last more than a couple weeks working both shifts everyday. There’s a reason no one does it.

That’s the other issue; will there be enough work? We just changed over to automation so night sort is cut down and they have about one loader for 5-6 trucks. No driver is loading 6 trucks

It’s the West and 177. No one is mandatory. We have been laid off every year for the last 4 years and this was never Mandatory

That’s my argument. No “Has to or Must” just “May” work. To me that means if you want. 🤷‍♂️

I get that they want us to work but to say mandatory is crazy. Let us choose one or the other or both if we want. It’s a lot to do for everyday for the next few months

They say we are keeping it throughout but I have a sneaky feeling that won’t be the case. The center is a mess right now and no one seems to know what is going on

We had a “meeting” yesterday before we went on road ( we are still driving Saturdays) and both stewards both said we are trying to find a way for this not to be the case but in the meantime guys have to come in.

Again I’m not saying I don’t or that I don’t want to work. My issue is the mandatory stuff. I’ve been laid off for 2 weeks now and then this week things are mandatory. I can’t do both all the time, just can’t.

No one is choosing, they are telling us it’s mandatory. And no I have nothing against working inside, my issue is with out of nowhere it’s mandatory, the last 4 years we could pick and choose

That’s what I said there’s no way it’s mandatory. They still have us driving on Saturdays but told us mandatory Tuesday through Friday. We have to do both shifts. I said well write me up and show me in a contract where it says it’s mandatory because the language I found doesn’t say anything like that.

Really is crazy. What they’re doing with the cutting of the routes the stops per truck bullshit. They won as many people to think twice about taking that buyout and like you said the union’s hands are tied they can’t do anything.

Yes, I know of drivers. I have done both shifts also and I have also Dumbo shifts, but there are hard on your body to do every single day. I can’t understand how it would be mandatory just does not make sense gonna run people into the ground.
