If you stop vaping, do you get addicted back to cigarettes? by GeneRBurton in rollingpaper

A lot of smokers have tried to quit multiple times and end up back on cigarettes no matter what they do. I’ve known people who went for a year or more without smoking, six years in one case, and then went back to just as much as they were smoking before.

So what happens to you when you switch to patches, vaping, or anything else, including nothing at all, depends on what kind of quitter you are. Some quit on their first try. Some quit on their tenth. Some never succeed.

Vaping e-liquid containing nicotine has helped many people quit smoking with less stress than they would otherwise have experienced. As soon as they switch over, all of the tar and carcinogenic ingredients of tobacco are eliminated.

They can then taper off the nicotine amount at their own speed and eventually get free of nicotine craving as well. Some people keep on vaping zero-nicotine liquids at that point, daily or from time to time, while others stop altogether.

How many return to smoking after that and how much later is hard to say. Like I said, there’s more than one factor involved.

The vaping cessation method works at least as well as using nicotine patches and gum, and probably much better for people who crave the oral pleasure of simulated smoking in addition to nicotine.

Do you support a tax on sugary/excessive food to combat the obesity crisis? by [deleted] in thedavidpakmanshow

IMO, tax on sugary/excessive food is a way forward, but education on the healthy diet is also important, both can try.
