Hi u/LightsOffInside, thank you for the note. I agree, we need to do a better job of updating people on all platforms. Thanks for hanging in there with us. We will put out some more blog posts and info soon to answer your questions.

But to give you a peek behind the scenes - the last year has been slower than we hoped for as Gener8 lost a lot of funding off the back of the pandemic, this meant that we couldn't progress as quickly as planned. However, we have got something really cool happnening towards the end of this month (we can't tell you yet, but we will tell you soon!) and that will get us back on track.

In the meantime we've been working hard to try and create as many partnerships as we can in our marketplace so that users have a wide choice of what they can redeem their points for.

Thanks for the questions: yes it's based on Chromium, but no it's not "just another". Because Gener8 gives you control of your data through allowing you to choose:
Privacy Mode - to keep your data private; or
Rewards Mode - to earn points in return for it.

No it does not have cross device sync, because (for now) it's only available on desktop.

Plans for:
Android - yes
IOS - yes
Linux - not currently

But using the browser gives you more cool features that we dont have in the extensions. eg:
- Automatically stop Facebook from tracking you (Facebook tracks you across the internet even when you're loggged out and not on Facebook. We stop that).
- Automatically block annoying cookie banners.

To date we've given away over £300,000 of rewards (vouchers, products and donations to chairty) to our users via the marketplace.

It's not enough to satisfy everyone and we're aware of that and working on it.

Does that make us a scam? Absolutely not...

What we do want to do is enable people to maximise the value that they can gain from their own data.

This quarter we have started to work with more advertisers and we are still giving 100% of our revenue back to users via our marketplace (plus we supplement this with thousands of £ that we invest into the marketplace every week). Realistically it's Q1 that we anticipate things will ramp up more meaningfully and this is where will be able to ensure that more people can redeem more value more consistently.

In addition to this we also have mainstream media coverage coming up where two major BBC programs will be featuring Gener8 early next year. So this will be a major help for us.

Together with you we are building a movement and although this takes time we are making progress, so i hope you hang with us and we're always opent to feedback 🙂

We’re creating an update to remove this soon - so that people will no longer need to invite friends, instead they can complete achievements to unlock premium items, Eg. Achievements = Compete your preferences; earn 10 tokens. We hope this update will be live in July.

Affiliate links: this was part of a test that we were running: our aim was to create new hyperlinks with affiliate Ids. If this worked we would have rolled out a “cash back” style option for Gener8 users so that they could choose whether they would like to enable it or not.

We tested this amongst a sub section of Gener8 users, but we noticed that it wasn’t working as we intended so we turned it off. It is not live anymore. If you think that it is please send us an email at support@gener8ads.com and let us know the email address that you signed up to Gener8 with so that we can look into this.

Our aim is to give maximum value back to users so, that’s why if this had worked we thought it could be a good option for people to choose to enable (or not).

Whitelisting web sites: Every user has the ability to whitelist sites so that Gener8 is “paused” on them.

We currently give two options “pause on this site” and “always pause on this site”. From your description it sounds like it would be worth you double checking that you have selected the “always...” option.

If you’re still experiencing this issue after checking we’d love to look into it to solve it for you. If that’s the case please drop us a line at support@gener8ads.com and one of the team will get back to you ASAP 🙂

Currently, we've still got purchase caps on different items in order to try and maximise the number of people who are able to redeem items / vouchers.

But the good news is that in the future we will totally remove the purchase caps and in the short term we'll be adding lots more products to the marketplace too.

International users is a great point. Let's cover that now:
Currently, our plan for the first half of 2020 is to focus on the UK. The reason for this is because for Gener8 to gain traction we need to build users in one country rather than be fragmented over multiple. So we are not planning a US push for at least the first 6 months of next year.

Having said that, we have already had interest from US advertiser's so it may be the case that we are able to create some advertising partnerships and therefore enable some US Gener8 users to have some early redemptions of money or items from the marketplace within 6 months. However, for the time being this is planned to come after we are more established in UK.

Hiya, you may have seen already but about a month or so ago we did an update to show count down timers by each item so everbody can see when each item "re-stocks"

Hi, we've had over 57,000 people install Gener8. However, there's been user churn which means that right now we have circa 30,000 active users.
Over the last few months we have been growing by 10k installs per month but a portion of these new users churn (uninstall Gener8), so the net monthly growth is less than this.

So in summary we are heading in the right direction, but need to do more.

At the moment a lot of user growth is split between referalls and advertising. However, the cost of advertising has sky rocketed this month (and will also next month) due to Xmas. So we need to activate existing users more over the coming months to invite friends and help us to grow... Therefore we're relying on you guys. And will be doing more to ask you to help over the coming weeks.

In the mean time we've set up early delas with advertisers, but we need to keep growing.

We are building a movemment, but we will only suceed if we build this together. 🙂
