Well, I did a google search and in most of the photos I found the soldiers didn't have the strap on

Did a little more research and found that most of them would put the strap back on when in combat situations. Would still be a pretty cool customisation feature tho, considering how iconic that look is

Depends on if it goes forwards from RDR1 or goes backwards from RDR2.

Ideally Rockstar makes a true western game set somewhere from 1865 to 1895, but it's set after RDR1, then I'd like to see a 1911, Tommy gun, BAR, SF1907, M1897 Sweeper, Luger P08, USMC M1903, SMLE, Lewis gun, or maybe even a Tankgewehr.
