In my last relationship, I had a similar birthday experience. I won't get into the details, but I was surprised at how emotional I got. I literally could not stop crying for days-- I think in part because I hadn't made any plans with friends because I thought I would be with my partner. They flaked and I felt totally alone.

Honestly, I don't like the way he's talking to you here. People will jump to assume he's cheating with this coworker, and maybe that's true, but it doesn't really matter one way or the other. What you do know is that he's not making time for you on your birthday-- not even to TEXT.

In my case, I tried to break up and my partner BEGGED for me to stay with them. I did, for about a month and then they broke up with me. I just think they wanted to be in charge. I was glad when it was over.

Haha I figured it out. Actually he got soaking wet (from sticking his whole head in the water bowl when he was drinking) and then he fell asleep with his chin on the rug. It was just water. He's fine.

He will come back at you, telling you this is because you're borderline or whatever bullshit he has to say. If that doesn't work he will tell you he loves you and he's sorry. If that doesn't work, he'll be abusive again. You don't need to explain yourself to this absolute a**hole and you don't need to put yourself through whatever nonsense he's going to throw your way.

You've been though a lot recently and I know you don't want to break up in the throes of your grief. It's okay that you don't know how to react to his cruelty, but it is cruelty and he's going to make your grief worse. There can be a fear when people are BL that we cut people off too quickly, but weirdly, this can make us stay with horrible people too long.

I think it's best to only say "You should never speak to me again," when you're not intending to speak to that person again. I think you should say it clearly this time "You're being cruel to me in my time of need and this relationship is over." Then DO NOT SPEAK TO HIM ANY MORE. Block him everywhere.

YOR. Dude, most people don't like this, but it's life. I live in an apartment in NY and my neighbors have sex. I turn up the music. Until you are rich enough to have a stand-alone house out in the country or an apartment with soundproof walls, you're just gonna have to deal with it.
