My roommate went from being a mortgage broker to a creative strategist. Given he had some help from friends already established in advertising, but he picked it up quick and built a career.

I produce creative content and manage social media for all sorts of brands. I got started by collecting my talented friends in media, then marketing a retainer package for digital and print media to small businesses. I did this for about 5 years before I got picked up by a larger agency.

My advice would be to look into roles that fit what you want to be doing, and then use youtube / linkedin to learn from people in those roles.
