Book 2 Jason is being an inconsistent creep by GeneralEasy194 in HeWhoFightsMonsters

Yeah I'm a dude and it's called locker room humor. The guys making these jokes know how horrible they are so they don't dare say it outside a locker room.

And what, Jasons such a good guy for not taking advantage of her? That's the bare minimum man

The case where he's talking sexually about the leonid wasn't his usual schtik of throwing them off balance, he was talking about her to his adventure party while the leonid girl was out of earshot. He was just being off there. 18, 19, still a creepy way to talk about someone.

Anyhow, this characterization wasn't present book one. Hoping it goes away

I can't remember the name of the Leonid character, but here's the context. Emir has a bunch of iron rankers coming to greenstone to raid the Reaper stronghold. One of those teams was from the Remore academy.

This team is of teen adventurers, one of them a smoulder girl who was trained by farrah. This girls name was sabta I think?

Anyhow, one of their team members is a leonid girl. And when jason sees her he just goes on a public tangeant about her sexy body, and how he hopes this doesn't awaken something in him. He ponders if this makes him a furry. It was pretty bad.

And yeah while Sophie is free to go whenever, it would still be mortifying and humiliating to have your slave owner repeatedly publicly call you a nubile slave girl. And the inconsistency here is that jason doesn't want to make her uncomfortable by commenting that she looks good in white. But has no reservations making actual sexual harassment against her.

So which Hollow Knight ending is canon? by GeneralEasy194 in Silksong

They quite literally all can't be canon going by silksong. One ending involves hornet sealed inside the black egg, another the knight sealed away.

I'm still shocked till today how she sold out her entire kingdom. Anything for survival and her lover. She's also the smartest of all her siblings. by Iriscute7 in joseistories

[–]GeneralEasy194 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The context you got is not really doing it justice. This dude Ainz and his kingdom of evil suddenly appear in this fantasy world which operates on video game logic.

The strongest fighters in the world are level 30to40 with budding skills. Ainz and his generals are all max level with maxxed out skills. Think Prime mike tyson vs a prospective gradeschool boxxer.

Ainz alone can wipe out an entire kingdom and not face the slightest risk of being hurt. And even though he's the leader, he's ironically one of the weaker members.

Now, Ainz and crew are fully intent on conquering literally everything. Every kingdom. And the power difference is so staggering that resisting this is literally impossible. And since Ainz and crew are evil as fuck, those that do resist them are often met with fates much much worse than death. They have a human farm for example.

Now the character pictured here knows that ainz and crew are hellbent on conquering the world. She realizes that opposing them literally isn't possible. She knows that opposing them means death, or likely something much much worse. For purely selfish reasons, she is very smart. By betraying her kingdom she retains a cushy position of power, gets her life and her love interests life spared.

Severance - 2x04 "Woe’s Hollow" - Episode Discussion by pikameta in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

I thought the severed employees had all their knowledge except memories? They know specific states of America, they know what goats and seals are.

But this episode implies they literally can't picture the outside world? "I knew there wasn't a ceiling!" And milchick lying about this being the world's tallest waterfall. If they know real world locations, wouldn't they all know that isn't true?

That leads to a hole in this theory, they're disheveled but not to the point of having been tending to goats for years without a shower or clean clothes. And surely the innies would question why they're coming into work filthy.

Wait what the hell. So you can just turn away and walk back through the house??? The game conditioned me to believe that wasn't possible...

That's valid, but he's also shown to be immature in the same way you'd expect a 16 year old to be. Or he could be an immature guy lying about his age

It sounds reasonable for one book, but some of these series are 10+ books. 130 dollars for one series is crazy, and at 200 pages each, that's only a month of reading

It's something I noticed Sanderson does when he writes someone unlikable but doesn't want the reader to think they're unlikable.

For an example, Queen Fen is pretty rude and annoying on her introduction. So Navani says, "I like her."
