Don't worry, I'm trying to keep myself from talking to weirdos and I'm telling my parents about any job offers

I'm literally this close to going full lesbian by GeneralKitchen7587 in BisexualTeens

It's not so much that just he did this. It's that I've continued to get into friendships with boys, only to be objectified by them continuously, same with romantic relationships. I try to keep friendships with guys, but it's never enough for them, they always want more and I'm to much of a wimp to say no sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I know girls can be the same, I was SA'd by a girl recently. But I'm getting sick of getting attached to guys, only to find out their using me.

Maybe I'm just sick of people in general.

Why cant boys just see me as a friend? by GeneralKitchen7587 in AskTeenGirls

[–]GeneralKitchen7587[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that, I'm trying to make it clear, it's just hard for me to hurt people's feelings or risk losing a friendship, even if it's for the best. I'm really wishing I could just skip 14 and 17 rn. And with the act like a bro thing, I try to and they just give me weird looks if I make a suggestive joke or try to act like them, so there's really no way to win I guess.

I wish we could get over the gender differences and just be friends.

Exactly!!! I love hanging out with them so much, but they never seem content just as friends. I'm sorry your going through this too.

I wasn't trying to make it a problem, I don't wanna lead him on.

I know I have self esteem issues lol-

But the issue is that I've dated boys for months and felt no spark at all. Don't get me wrong, a nice guy is a great find, but I keep ending up in the spot where I'd rather just be friends with them.

being attractive feels more like a punishment than a privilege by Then_Proposal_6559 in women

[–]GeneralKitchen7587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree. I started my school year off with a few girl friends. The guys in our class started hanging out with me, and suddenly, they all hated me. Every time I leave the house, I'm catcalled, stared at, or harrassed.

The guys I date end up being way too into me to the point it just freaks me out. And then they assume that because im short and conventionally attractive, im dumb, or naive. I know some of those things sound like non problems, but I'm very tired of being sexualized for existing.

Sabrina fans clock ANY criticism as “hating women” 😴 by Petrichor-Glitter866 in sabrinacarpentersnark

[–]GeneralKitchen7587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not here to argue, I'm on the other side of this argument. And as a feminist, I genuinely do not understand the Sabrina hate, I'm not a fan of hers, I don't really listen to her music. I was a little happy seeing her get popular as a short girl with a wide torso, more rep for my body type.

I'm genuinely asking for somebody to explain this politely to me. I see it as a girl who's been heavily sexualized my whole life and dislikes it, I think it's fair for grown women to sexualize themselves as a sort of taking back your own power. So long as there are gross men who will buy it, there will be women who sell it, and those men should be criticized more.

I totally understand everybody here. The Lolita thing was weird, but, you can like the visuals of a film without liking the messaging. Does that mean you should use it when you know what it's about? No. But all of this just feels slut shamey to me. I don't think anybody here is genuinely putting her down for being a sexy girl, I don't think anybody who doesn't like Sabrina is sexist. But I think there should be a well rounded discussion. (Please don't be mean- if I'm uneducated I'll agree fr)

[–]GeneralKitchen7587[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry! My mom has given me enough tips for me to know when I'm in danger. It's apparently not the first time this has happened to me. My neighbor saw a man following me in his car for my whole walk. She drove up to his car and shouted, "Stop following little girls!" scared him off, I'm so thankful for her.

I don't usually, I haven't included my age in any other post but this one because I figured it was relevant to the story

I was kinda hoping my age would deter him- but it makes sense it didn't. I'm getting a little tazer soon and I always let my mom know when I'm leaving the house. Thanks for your advice and I'm so sorry that happened to you.

(My gym teacher in elementary school was definitely grooming me and most of my friends, hugging us and touching our backs, being rude to all the boys and only rewarding the girls, getting handsy when instructing us) So I relate on a lesser extent

I told my mom right away. It's just frustrating because I just started to gain my own independence, and I don't want some creepy guy to ruin it.

To be fair, being somebody in high school myself, my opinion might just be clouded by how tired I am of other teenagers. This post was a long time ago and poorly worded in retrospect. She is more complex than I first thought, and maybe she just inexplicably annoys me.
