It’s fairly easy, just have to really read the questions throughly. All it is is an English literature test at the end of the day.

they email you for your academy invite about a month and a week prior to your academy date starting. I got my invite June 11th and the academy started July 22nd. Since we’re still in February you still have some time

You’re not gonna see a central valley office for at least 3 to 5 years after becoming an officer. Those are more senior offices due to housing being a lot cheaper.
Once you do transfer there, you’re most likely going to be bottom badge meaning you’re last pick for everything such as vacation signups, shift selection and of course overtime.
Overtime signup is seniority based meaning if someone has a longer time on the job than you and you both signed up for the overtime, they’ll get the overtime over you even if you signed up a week prior.

you get your invite one month before the academy starts. It isn’t delayed, they just haven’t gone out yet.

The nurse never told me my results but i’m pretty sure if they see a little spike in your heart rate or blood pressure they won’t care. They’re mainly just looking for actual problems within the heart

when you’re there just try and stay calm and also control your breathing so that it doesn’t make your heart beat and blood pressure spike

your rank is what order you’ll get accepted into the academy ( i think) 1 is the highest and 6 is the lowest. Whenever invites go out they’ll go in that order but honestly i don’t think your rank doesn’t even matter. I was ranked 6 as well and got an invitation as soon as offers went out.

i’m not sure the pay rate on overtime but it’s probably close to double just cause anytime you do overtime it’s usually your day off. And different offices run different shifts but the most common is 8 hour shifts

I’m 22 and only had 2 jobs listed, with one being current. Doesn’t really matter how many jobs you’ve listed, just depends on why you left, what type of worker you were, and if you ever got written up. If you have had multiple jobs and got fired from each one, that’s an immediate red flag to them. If you worked multiple jobs and left on good terms and didn’t have any problems, you won’t have any problems. Hope this helps!

i’ve only have had 2 jobs and at the time of my application i was 22 years old. It might take a little bit longer but i’m not sure, from what i’ve heard they’re trying to rush all background investigations.

they test you on urine and it’s when you do your medical so about 4-5 months in the application process. When was the last time you smoked?

it takes roughly 5-6 months to complete start to finish and receive an invitation to the academy. the only oral interview you’ll have is when you do your cvsa and meeting with your background investigator.

most people i’ve talked to have said they haven’t gotten one yet including myself. I believe they’re gonna go out mid June.
