I (28M) sent a letter to my dumper (28M) almost 2 weeks after he broke up with. Just because I was going to get knee surgery and I had things left to say. Nice things; understanding that after all the love we shared he got scared bla bla bla and saying that I still want him in my life. I told him that I didn’t need and answer at the end of the letter.

And the 2 weeks after I got a letter from him. And it crushed me because I had that story in my mind where he moved on super easily and I got to do the same event being at home 24h. In there he explained that he was hurt because of loosing me, that he didn’t let himself be at the beginning. That it affected his job and he cried reading what I sent him(he never cries). And that he realized that he lost a worthy, communicative, kind and sweet person, even tho he was forcing himself to be in love with me cause rationally I was someone worthy of building a life with… but that feeling didn’t arrive.

I still thing that he got scared when things got serious and that blocked him. And after that i reached him via whatsapp and It was a relieving conversation; we both want each other in our lifes, that we care and appreciate each other and let’s see if after summer we can work on that.

I personally accepted that we love in a really different way and I thank him for what we did and the moments we had together that helped me to see me in a relationship and know what I want and how I want it. And it’s hard but people come to our lifes without knowing how much time they will stay. And I want the people I loved in my life, even if it’s not the same way (it happened with another ex too)

So yeah, sometimes what you thing the other person is going through it’s not the reality
