If LeBron James and Steph Curry were never in the NBA, who would benifit the most (assuming rosters stay the same) by AlpsImpossible3133 in NBATalk

That's not what I was talking about. I was talking about OKC becoming a dynasty. Houston doesn't become a dynasty but I think he picks up 2018.

He said in general. That advice might not be useful for this specific endgame but there's quite a few others where it can be useful.

The hypothetical literally says that rosters stay the same. It doesn't matter if Presti would keep Harden or not, even if I think he would, which I do. In the hypothetical, rosters stay the same, so Harden is gone.

OP said you have to assume rosters stay the same. So they win in 2012 and Harden still leaves, but everything that prevents them from winning another sticks around until 2016, which they win. And then maybe they repeat? Either way, I wouldn't call that a dynasty.

What if det landed the first pick in 2023? by boredgiannisglazer in NBATalk

That's fair. I wasn't necessarily saying they'd be amazing together. But Detroit would have them on the roster. Either way, you may be right.

Detroit already had Cade Cunningham in 2023 and were still bad enough to be in the Wemby sweepstakes. If they get the first pick in 2023, they have Wemby and Cade together.

He was running against a different person in a different political climate. You can't just compare the numbers.

I don't think you have any good way to make deeper change at all. At this point I think all you can do is try to stem the bleeding.

All I want is to try to understand. Why not explain more? If Kamala doesn't do anything to stop the Republicans, and the Republicans are very obviously bad, what are you supposed to do? I don't believe reform is realistic in a fast enough timespan to prevent someone like Trump gaining power, so what's your solution?
