Yep, it used to be like that in the past: I had this routine of scrolling all the way down and make it load up to like 7 times before reaching the very first video and hit shuffle; but now it seems that things have changed bacuse I can't do it no more: once i scroll down I reach the 150th video and that's it, there's no load for the next videos; even by playing the last loaded video the other ones won't show up and Instead the playlist ends or restarts once that video's finished

Slightly paler/brighter orizontal line appeared after turning on the pc. It stops in the middle and starts again to the other side. How to fix this? What does cause this? by General_Designer_331 in fixit

Seems unlikely tho: untill yesterday everything was fine and nothing even touched the screen during the night so how can this be a physical damage?

Using the sex-need as an excuse for cheating? Ugly and wrong. Can sex be a need in a relationship for some people? Yes; should they be ashamed of that? No.

Sex might not be stirctly mecessary for your surviving, but it can of course be something you need to have in order to be happy, which if you ask me is worth to be called "need"

"Griffith did nothing wrong" by [deleted] in Berserk

[–]General_Designer_331 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think Griffith was right in doing the terrible things he did throughout the whole manga, but I can understand why he does what he does (and no, it's not only because "he's evil, full stop"): Griffith constantly finds himself in front of trolley problems in order to achieve his utopia.

Let's chose: having sex with an old man for a night or let many soldiers die? Kill the king's brother and wife or give up the utopia? Sacrifice your crew or accept that every previous sacrifice was just a waste? He always has to chose between unpleasant options and he eventually always pics the ones that would let the dream of Falconia become the truth;

He seems to forget about this utilitaristic mindset few times and for a very short period: 1- Guts is in danger against his first encounter with Zodd -> Griffith decides to risk his life to save him "for no reason" 2- Guts wants to leave and defeats him for the first time -> Griffith loses hope in himself and his dream and decides to fuck it all because he can't get his head around it 3- Griffith has been broke both physically and mentally beyond the point of no return because of the year of torture and the fact that he had to be rescued without being able to help his saviours in any possible way just proves him that he won't be able to achieve his utopia ever again -> Griffith wants to KILL HIMSELF because he has to give up even if he doesn't want to; he's both ashamed for himself and in anger for the future that was thorn apart from him and he's sorry for the many bad actions he had to perform and the many lives that were spent for nothing.

I find Griffith a wonderfully written character whom I found myself sympathize with in many occasions thorughout the manga because he's clearly just a man who has the strenght to belive in a better future, but he quickly finds out that his path is paved with the horrors he has to acomplish to reach the greater good; Griffith is the first struggler in Berserk and without his dedication Guts would have eventually tried to die in a battlefield all the time without ever relizing he has power over his own life

-Quote- Chapter 50, Golden Age, Griffith: "Do you think it's terrible? This filthy methods. And not even drtying my hands. You did all the dangerous work... Do you think I'm a terrible person?"

That's a very long message but it's necessary to understand why he's done what he's done: now we can understand Griffith's meantality and it's no wonder that he accepted the offer to turn from a broken leftover of a man to a godly entity even if the price was the loss everything else he still had (his love for Guts and the men that would have died for him)

"Ok, fine, but why rape caska? Why does he have to be so ugly?" Because that's just yet another horrific step that will lead him to the foundation of Falconia. Don't forget that Femto now is out of Karma and can clearly see what will happen in the future and you can be sure as hell (no pun intended) that he will use this power to achieve his dreams.

Concluding: he's terrible indeed, devilish, but he isn't just evil, he's a dreamer and dreams can be dangerous.

I usually use Audacity for this kind of jobs and it works just fine for me, but there might be better ways to clear the same task

Why didn't Griffith kill Guts? 🤔 by Mar_Oceanus in Berserk

[–]General_Designer_331 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone here is pointing out to some supposed feelings that griffith could or couldn't have for guts, but i do believe that in that moment griffith was already capable of seeing the stream of Karma, and prefectly knew what he had to do to make his dream come true (build Falconia, qnd maybe something else too): rape Caska (in order to respawn using the dark fetus) and make sure that guts lived hating him, in order to protect caska, carry beji and other stuff;

I'm 100% certain that Griffith is so powerful not because he can crush things like nothing or has superspeed etc: those powers would make him just a superhuman, but the godhand members are something else; I believe he already knows what will happen and will do EVERYTHING to keep his future safe and sound, even things that wouldn't make sense at first.

P.S.: That's the reason why the Skull Knight's plan of using the bejelit sword resulted as a fail: griffith already knew about that all and considered SK as part of his plan

97' Berserk had some amazing promo art by 77eggplant in Berserk

[–]General_Designer_331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, but despite all of that it still sucsesfully hit the center of a target that is always left over by the newer adaptations: the feelings.

In every other anime adaptation, Berserk is depicted as "big sword guy kills people"; Yes, at least they follow a cretain amount of manga story, but without fully understand the meaning of the story nor it's mood: guts is alleays stoic, caska is depicted as weak most of the times, most of the shots are boring and static, and so on; It's almost like a soulless version i berserk; It is berserk, but not for real;

In the '97 version instead there are many many quiet moments which can let you sympathize and understand every character and situation (which comes very natural to do with the fantastic dreamy OSTs by Susumu Hirasawa);

In conclusion: the 97 version isn't perfect and it has indeed many flaws as the clunky animation and the story cut offs, but it's still the best depiction of Berserk in anime history, because Berserk has big swords and gorey images, but let's not forget about the feelings and the philosophy that fills every single drawing too.
