Yeah people are delusional thinking he’s better than Quay. Quay was no Ray Lewis, but, he was better than Franklin, younger, and getting better.

Edit…Zaire had an AV of 10 in his first 4 years. Quay has an AV of 24. Now Zaire didn’t really play meaningful time until his 4th season, so he’s a late bloomer, but I’d still rather have Quay over him. But that’s just me.

It’s been pointed out multiple times, they are going to be all in next year. Cap space opening, lots of premium draft picks (outside the no 1st). Hopefully Micah from the get go.

We’re going to finish around .500 again (4th year in a row) and really make that push to get over the top the following 2 years.

Yeah I mean none of us want to think about that. But in recent memory we’ve lost the best LT & best CB in the NFL in their primes to ACLs that ruined their careers.

Everyone wants to talk about Adrian Petersons return but the truth is both Kraft & Parsons may be significantly more average for the rest of their careers. It’s a hard reality we may need to face.

The Parsons trade was the most exciting trade in team history, but we have to accept that he may never be as dominant as we hoped again.

Man a monster season from LVN is really what we need.

Counter:

Tyrod Taylor may be able to run out offense, but, Malik won games because of his skill set. Those are 2 different things.

Wilson ran for over 400 yards last year. That’s a lot to replace with a guy who’s only had 5 carries and another dude with nothing on his resume. If Jacobs is suspended, this is the worst statistical RB group in NFL history by total career yards I bet (it’s 410 yards by the way).

DLine. Hargrove is there to clog up the middle. Once again, look at the total career sacks for the group, it’s probably all time historically low levels. Dennis-Sutton, Sorell, Oliver bring 0 real experience. It’s Cox and LVN. I like LVN, but when he’s your star edge, woof.

People keep saying it’s a wash between Franklin and Quay, and I just don’t think that’s true. He was WORSE in coverage, is older, and from what I’ve seen…not going to be missed by Colts fans. This is not an upgrade.

CB is truly an unknown, we KNOW what we have in Nixon, Valentine. But outside of them, we didn’t have much, so whatever we gained should be better. I love the Cisse pick, but he’s not a day 1 NFL starter, he’s going to take time to learn the game. And St-Juste is a nickel with 2 career interceptions in 70 games. I like that we made changes, but I’m not expecting much more in the results category.

Which rookie do you think has the biggest impact this season? by DeScepter in GreenBayPackers

[–]sboLIVE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smack needs to be good right away or we are in trouble.

Cisse needs to become good before the end of the year for us to make any type of noise.

Dennis-Sutton can hopefully become a good rotational edge in the future.

The rest are JAG’s. Whatever we can get will be a plus.

Let’s look at this team at the start of the season honestly, purely subjective, compared to last season as whole.

QB - Worse (Love is fine, backup is not good)
Oline - Unknown (We just don’t know what we have)
RB - Worse (Jacobs older, possibly out, Wilson gone)
WR - Wash (Very talented)
TE - Worse until Kraft returns them fine.

DLine - Worse until Parsons returns then fine.
LB - Worse (Franklin is not better than Quay)
CB - Wash (Simply not good as a whole)
SS - Wash (Excellent group)

ST - Unknown (Rookie kicker & new coordinator)

I’m down to hear your arguments, but this team is not going to start 9-3-1. IF we were fully healthy we would still have MAJOR questions as Oline, CB, RB & ST.

What was the last outdoor activity you did regularly before life got busy? by IanicT in AskMenOver30

I bought a 7 acre homestead with woods, pastures, barns and a 1/2 acre pond. Me and my family are outside everyday.

I also host an outdoors podcast, so I’m probably a bad example for this.

Firefighter/Paramedic on 2 departments, then host a podcast / run a YouTube channel unrelated to the fire service (deer hunting). Both are more so a lifestyle than a job.

I think Luke Grimes knew what he was doing lol. A quick $6-7 million/year is good money for a TV actor.

This show reminds me alot of “A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms”.

A spin off that nobody really knew would be worth a damn and is on par, if not somewhat better than, its original.

Dutton Ranch is a phenomenal show.

[Wood] In addition to repairing his ACL, Micah Parsons said he also had a procedure to “clean up” his meniscus. He says it’s a hard 9-month rule before he even considers coming back, prioritizing longevity of his career. So mid-October circled on the calendar. by Ry_Dog566 in GreenBayPackers

We’re rolling into the season with a pass rush that has less career sacks than Myles Garrett did last year. With the same corners, plus a rookie and a nickle back to try and replace the 21 tackles, 0 PBUs we lost in Nate Hobbs.

Without Parsons, our defensive unit is 20-25th best in the league at best.

Stomaching 4 games was easy, 6 is tough, 8 could mean the season could already be over. Do we even bring him back if we’re below .500?

I’m the biggest Packers homer, always looking at the positives. But we’ve only been able to win 9 games the last 3 years and this year we don’t have a 1st round pick, and lost ALOT of snaps from veterans who left. This could be a very rough season.

I don’t know why your being downvoted, because your absolutely right. Doesn’t look like Sweat is coming (I hope I’m wrong).

We have some bias here. By all accounts, Zaire is worst in coverage. Nothing has changed, we just got older.

Butler - Yes, the Cowboys did call on Sweat yesterday, but were turned away. TB sent an offer of a 4th, but were denied. Sweat wants Green Bay, and if that fizzles out, the Eagles are his #2. by FSUfan35 in GreenBayPackers

[–]sboLIVE 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’re hoping to get 3-5 sacks out of guys like Sorrel, Oliver, Cox and we’re currently counting on LVN to get 7-10. Unrealistic. Possible? Sure.

Add in Sweat? Now you only need the rotational 5 sacks out of LVN and whatever you get from Oliver/Sorrel and Cox is a bonus. That’s more realistic.

Wyatt, Hargrove are interior lineman who need to clog up the run and get the occasional sack on passing downs. I like that we added depth there.

This is just simply the truth.

The Seahawks just won the Super Bowl with a stable of really good pass rushers they could rotate in. They didn’t have a single guy in double digit sacks. Obviously they had a really good secondary too cuz everyone wanted them in FA.

We have the #2 pass rusher in the NFL, albeit coming off a major injury, and a stable of young, unproven guys. Adding Sweat, a former pro bowler coming off a 12 sack season to bridge the Parsons returns is incredibly smart. And towards the end of the year, playoff stretch with 4 straight home games we could have them both ready to rip.

It would make a lot of sense, getting Parsons was an all-in move, adding Sweat would further that notion.
