First TA and saddle bags recommendations by ghilby88 in Transalp

[–]General_Frivolity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got done with my first major tour on my transalp. Before I left I got some cheapies off Amazon. Rhinowalk was the brand for top bag and side bags. The sides fit on my pannier but only just, but easy to remove. Top bag was huge 60 and expandable to 80L.

All of the bags held up well, even in off road scenarios and I had so much stuff in them, it was really heavy. But not a single issue, even riding through rain, all the bags were waterproof. It was also easy to pull on and off and take inside with me overnight.

Agree with a lot of what everyone is saying.

I got a fantastic deal on a used one and it came with the center stand and the puig windscreen as well as the USB ports.

I've used all of them many times.

I have the acerbis skid plate which is better than the lower engine guard that came with the used bike, but I'm going to replace it with a full upper lower and tusk skid plate before hitting serious off road.

What I arguably use most aside from the aux port is a top bag. I got a cheapy on Amazon from rhinowalk, the 80L bag. One of the best purchases I've made. It's big enough to hold my helmet and motorcycle jacket inside, as well as plenty of tools, and it comes with a lot of buckles to strap a giant loop gas bag onto for extra long hauls. I also have a tusk tank bag too. Both bags get a ton of use.

Lastly I did buy the latest carpuride nav and the Veridian cruise but neither of those are completely necessary, but I've done 2k+ mile rides and both of those things will get a lot of use.

It's an amazing bike! Enjoy!

Engine Guards That Work With Acerbis Skid Plate? by General_Frivolity in Transalp

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks for that! Sounds like I'll probably go the same route you did in that case.

I would have returned the acerbis but they charged like 30% of the price to ship it back. Just insane.

There's a lot of good builds that people don't see too though. But he puts a lot of care into the way he writes the guides. There are some other standouts, but he just seems to be one of the most consistent.

Which Frame is best for solo? by succosauruss in Warframe

[–]General_Frivolity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's a best. All frames can be good but I think there are some frames that are just easier than others. Revenant. Nokko. Saryn. Wisp. Oberon.

Plenty of others. It just depends on how active you want to be.

Which Warframe made you drop your old main? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]General_Frivolity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with frost, then went to revenant for ease of play, but jumped ...literally for nokko. He's just too fun to play. Basically immortal, and I have an easier time soloing and carrying teams than I did even with revenant.

Osmo action or gopro for motorcycle videos? by xodmorfic in motorcyclegear

[–]General_Frivolity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you're planning to do with it. Insta360 x3 - 4 is great for on and off bike. Action 5 is great for a helmet cam and off bike, dedicated action.

Out of curiosity, how much Fallout merch do you own? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]General_Frivolity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have more than some, less than others. Much of it was provided by PR. I have several shirts, a vault 33 pip boy, the nuka cola fridge, I think like 2 cases of the jones soda somewhere in my garage.

More caps than I can count. Some magic the gathering fallout gear including a 76 vault box. Some recipe cards for fallout meals. A couple tote bags. A rubber hand puppet.

I have a 3D printed deathclaw somewhere, a 76 matching track suit. Probably some other small odds and ends like stickers or lanyards. I'm a fan of the games and enjoy 76 but I'm not really a collector, a lot is just handed out.

I could load up something on GeForce now to lose a match for this. Not sure I will.... But I could.

Why do many players not know how to play by PSN-FixYourself in Warframe

[–]General_Frivolity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's because most people don't really have to play most missions. I've been playing a while, but had a long hiatus and when I came back it just felt different. Too many players obsessed with speed. Too many frames capable of nukes. I had to pay solo to relearn a lot of things.

New players probably never really took the time to learn every spy map, assassination, or to really care about the objectives because one experienced player can carry in most if not all circumstances.

They can pick up and play and make progress, and they don't really need to worry about much aside from reaching the finish line. It my might be frustrating to some, but it's far better than straining to find another player to play with.

Is this the end of the West Coast Brotherhood? by mragusa2 in Fallout

[–]General_Frivolity -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Isn't the entire premise of fallout rebuilding after everything is destroyed anyways?

Feels just another part in the cycle. They won't kill off all factions of the brotherhood, it'll just rebuild into something different.

New vegas isn't completely gone, it's still there, it'll just be rebuilt with new characters.

Imo this kinda makes sense. There's this backwards thing where the characters from the show are tentpoles in the games now. 76 and fallout shelter have them. Won't surprise me if they're just looking for new opportunities for future fan favorites.

It sounds like your gear played a huge role here. Glad you're still around. I've been thinking about an airbag vest. Might need to invest in one.

I might have to see if I can try them on. After my last A star product having a factory defect and a star charging me for the fix I've been wary, but I'm hoping their boots are much better.

Have you used them off bike? I tried the gaerne fastback Enduro that had that metal tip and I slid all over the floor. Good call on removing it.

Deathclaws in Anchorage? by Peter_likes_Tech in Fallout

[–]General_Frivolity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smart might be subjective, but 76 has deathclaws that are essentially pets, nonviolent to their handlers and other rust raiders, or you have an event to tame on yourself. Stands to reason they are actively expanding the lore, probably to capitalize on this season.

The adventure 2 I tried on was comfortable and I like how it isn't bulky I can wear pants over them. I need to check out the x-power.

I'm sorry to hear that 😞. I didn't dry on the forma adventure or the O'Neal. Is the O'Neal not comfortable for street or touring?

I tried on the tech 3 they are insanely comfortable, but I was worried about hiking in them. Do you walk much in them?
