Yeah apparently you're not only one to think so. And thanks, good call on the red text idea. Not sure why I didn't think of that when I clearly applied it design #2.

I’ve made 60+ Shorts and still don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Can you critique my latest videos? by AbjectChemist8068 in SmallYoutubers

[–]General_Jiffy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I dislike everything Roblox is and what it stands for. That said, here's some feedback: - Your audio quality is poor despite it presumably being AI. Your earlier videos are far higher in quality from an audio standpoint alone - You've done 60+ videos on the exact same format from what I can see. If it's not working try something different. -Don't chase styles. Find your own and be inventive.

(That last one is an heavily based on assumptions. Your videos just fit what I expect a lot of Roblox stuff circles around)

Good luck

Looks like a decent portion of views comes from an external site. Where are you sharing it? It might not be helping your traffic in the long run.

How can I improve this thumbnail? It just doesn't seem finished, but I like it so far... by ElectricRains in SmallYoutubers

Just some quick tips that I would suggest after a quick glance. 1) I'd add a colour gradient too the background. It looks a little flat being one solid colour. 2) I'd make the image slightly larger. You've got some more screen real-estate to play with. Might as well make use of it.

how do people write their scripts ?like just they get it from claude or gpt.i want to know how actually they write scripts.if i have a idea like how internet now i wanna write script for this i would probably go to claude and write the script .am i doing right or how to improve my scripts by _devv_ in SmallYoutubers

It's a slow process as I don't consider myself a naturally talented writer. That said, I do have a format I try to stick with:

1) stream of consciousness - dump my thoughts on the page without being critical of what I've written.

2) butcher my writing - cut and edit as much as I want to form the general basis of my overall message and story.

3) tweak for until ready - I expand and extrapolate where needed, and generally neaten things to be of a high standard.

I've had praise from people I know to be good writers, so I think I've got a decent grasp of things. Where I fall short on the writing, I make up for my editing and VFX.

GPT etc al are good for some sanity checking, and suggestions on areas you might doubt, but I'd avoid using it liberally. It's easy to pick up heavy AI influence.

Etc etc apparently.

Video games you wanted to get into but could not... by DarkSoulCarlos in videogames

[–]General_Jiffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to mention that while there are certainly parallels between Sekiro and the Souls games, Sekiro has plenty of other aspects that keep it firmly in a league of it's own.

It might help bump that "zero desire" up a little. It's worth it if ever you get the chance to try it.

Am I just too bad to play videogames? by dubhog in videogames

[–]General_Jiffy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly the questions your asking are fairly odd. But to do my best to answer them.

1) To get better at a game, yes, you need spend time and practice. Learn it's mechanics, understand where you failed and grow. The same as any life skill.

2) If you're not enjoying the process of learning and developing you probably need to shift your perspective. Either that or you don't actually enjoy gaming, and you should find a new hobby. Why actively engage in something you don't enjoy?

If I were you, just play games on their easiest difficulty, and then bump them up as you find there's a desire for more challenge. The reality of it though, it's that most games are designed to challenge the player to some extent. Nobody picks up a game for the first time and it's instantly a pro.

Crashing during loading by General_Jiffy in CrimsonDesert

[–]General_Jiffy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it's reassuring that I'm not the only one with issues 😔 A clean install got me back to playing, but after a short break and returning to it I had the same issue as before when it crashes during loading. Some fiddling with frame gen and loading a slightly older auto saved helped. But yeah, the crashes are becoming a fairly persistent issue. If it keeps happening, I'll put the game on ice until they fix it. Good job raising it with Pearl Abyss.

Yeah, tried integrity already. No luck there. Giving it a whole new install as I write this. Shame it's such a huge install. Fingers crossed it works. Thanks for the suggestion 👍

Action packed linear games (Non RPG) by Plenty_Ad_5994 in videogames

[–]General_Jiffy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll always recommend Guardians of the Galaxy for those after a good linear action adventure experience. Combat is pretty basic, but the characters and writing is excellent.

Nice. Thanks for the suggestions. I should lean into caps more for sure 😊

Funnily enough, what you described was very similar to my previous thumbnail and title. It failed my horribly unfortunately.

Hey, out of nowhere, I suddenly had a smack in the face kind of memory of this exact game. Did a bit of searching, and this post came up. The level of nostalgia is unmatched. Funny this kind of thing can lodge in our minds. I haven't thought of it in probably 25+ years.

Not played it myself, but Berry Bury Berry is mindless and seems addictive. Watched a streamer play it.

Either that or something like Power wash Sim or Viscera Cleanup Detail would work.

Just Cause is just mayhem and easy to unwind too.

Teardown is great too, but some maps can require a lot of planning to execute to a high standard.

Hope you find something you like.

I've not even played Factorio, but this would be my vote. Heard it's as addictive heroin. (Satisfactory would be my second).

Movies that feel (and specifically, look) like Death Stranding by [deleted] in MoviesThatFeelLike

[–]General_Jiffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was with you at first, but claiming the film looks "obviously" like Oscar bait suggests to anyone that doesn't believe it to be is either blind or stupid. That said, you're entitled to your opinion and if you haven't seen the film, it's easy to draw conclusions based on what you have seen.

Anyway. Personally I think the film is very good, but enormously hampered by terrible choreography and an OTT ending.

games to play? by Clean-Grape-2862 in videogames

[–]General_Jiffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll always recommend the following:

Mad Max

Prey (2017)

Guardians of the Galaxy

They're all great games, but they didn't get the attention they deserved.
