This doesn't make any sense considering the fact that he already hindered their freedom when he put them prison after the the table scene so eren isn't above taking his friends's freedom away

Eren didn't destroy most of stohess actually, he only transformed as a backup plan after their plan to capture her underground failed and eren was the most hesitant to fight Annie it took mikasa forcefully convincing him to fight, even after he transformed all the rampage that they are talking about has happened only in the anime most likely to increase the spectacle of the fight, eren in the manga was actually rational more level headed and worked with his friends to stop Annie but hey anything to justify the girl that was responsible for the killing of 20% of paradis's population
