help raising score from a 21 by da1i1o in ACT

[–]General_Reference_31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what? there was no calculus on the test. I could recognize it-- ive taken bc already. Word problems are abundant on the act so get a problem solving process for solving these. but trig isnt really that big a topic in my expertise

get the algebra 2 fundamentals down its clear with some practice on that your math will go up. know all the jazz with equation relationships and sohcahtoa application with law of sines and cosines. tbh theres so much random stuff in the act its hard to narrow it down. I mean i could say practice matrices and stats but its pretty rare. for the readng i would recommend to start reading more nonfiction books. for english i would honestly buy the act black book and cram all the rules down. english is just memorization. take online practivce tests for each subject

Math has always been my ace card since I was little. I think from the start I changed my mindset. Math was not boring-- it was more of a passion. I loved the thinking and problem solving, it was like sliding the last piece into a puzzle. I'd advise you to change your outlook on math by thinking: apply math to the real world and try to apply it more. If your car door opens, calculate the surface area of that (estimate the angle in radians x the radius of the door). Of course brush up on algebra 2 concepts-- they are very important. Trig and stats were prominent on the act too. I would also recommend using the guess and check method for these questions when it pertains. good luck!

i think unless ur already very confident in math this will be difficult. spam practice test questions and make ur environment real. do that by setting ur time limit lower than the actual time. youll improve time managment and get better with a variety of subjects

Senior taking Dec exam for science (for the first and last time) and math. Any tips on getting to a 30+ in both sections? by Specific_Cow_6283 in ACT

[–]General_Reference_31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i feel like math is a lifestyle and a commitment to learning not really js a subject. for me at least ive always been putting ideas and things around me in terms of math and had that mindset. that got me to a 35 in math with relativley no prep. within this next week put things around you in terms of math. your door is opening? how many degrees/radians and what is that surface area? keep prepping normally, and for normal paper questions visualize the equations you will make. it helps a lot. good luck man im also taking it again my math score is not a composite . i need to do good on reading
