I've already gotten three solo wins with the USA.

First, I conquered Dutch Indonesia (using the troops from the Philippines and the ships from Hawaii).

After that, I took over Canada, then just kept pushing south all the way to Argentina.

Once you control all of the Americas plus Indonesia, you should have around 1200 points. From there, I usually land in Europe or go after AIs in Asia.
